i know that the city halls and guild halls have genaric banners on the outside of then what do you guys think about mayors being able to design their own unique ones for each city????

Unless there were perhaps certain options given.

I like that idea, if there were abilities to swap to diferent banners given in certian politition skills... and an interface on the structure management terminal in city hall that allowed the Mayor to use it in the same manner a merchant changes shop signs. I think it would be great.

They're just graphics. They would have to add another "sign" to allow for banner changes and change the graphic.

have certain symbols that specific to each planet. Like 5 or so. Then have a color selection for primary and boarder or something like that. GREAT IDEA

Sounds like a good idea I think that would add a little customization to each city.

i know on GuildWars you can design your own cape for a guild that is displayed on EVERY single toon in that guild

So to get one that doesn't move and just stays flat like the tattooine flag thingy...

Surely SOE can work out the coding

i read something in the fan fest thingy that they was ideas of giving guilds there own logos and that would be on ppls clothing ans such ...hmm let me find the thread .

It's not only the code. That might cause an avalanche of legal issues. Same problems as with musicians not being allowed to upload there own midi files. Which in fact would cause less network traffic and was very easy to implement. The problem is not only that you might (and knowing the players) most likely will use copyrighted material, the problem is also that they may not accept any part of work by outsiders...

Simply to seriously consider doing something like this would cost tenthousends in lawyer bills. (Well I am probably exaggerating a little)
