whoops, had this open all day and forgot about it O.o
TC was down for a few days, so there wasn't much going on this week. the city survived the mothballing, and is still up and running
the city's been relatively quiet, save a couple of folks (who seem to be new to the server) that caused some trouble in the city.
instead of only logging onto my mayor as I usually do, I logged onto my CM to help Scipionus (the musician corr) to do some testing. I completely forgot about the GCW changes until I saw a red dot walking into the theed cantina, where we were testing
for those of you who celebrated valentines day (prehaps with some sort of activity in your city), how did it go? how is everyone else's city this week?

Despite some people leaving for WoW, other people are still finding their way to the city. I looks like we may break 100 citizens soon - yay!
City Planning
Nothing new to report.
Commerce
Work on the Rogues Paradise mall is progressing slowly so I am told. Our Business Relations Officer is trying to get all the shipwrights to agree to split the schematics beween them, a tough job to be sure.
Council
As if losing the plotline co-ordinator a couple of weeks ago wasn't bad enough, the deputy who is also the city arbitrator is also leaving the game. WoW is certainly having a negative effect which is going to create more work for me as I try and recruit some committed GMs to replace those we have lost.
As regards the election, looks like I should be ok as so far I am winning 27-4.
Events
Blushes of Love II went off brilliantly with a great performance by Talus Moon' and a hilarious Blind Date show, despite the last minute scare that we would not have enough contestants. There were lots of visitors to the city at the event which has resulted in some new residency applications and business propositions.
Summary
It's been a week of ups and downs, but I maintain that things will get better as the devs finally turn this game around. Just a shame that it is too little too late for some people

Your post just sounded like there was something more concrete going on and that we might see it fixed sometime soon.

Defiance, Rori - Corbantis
After running for mayor in my old city since early November, my guild has agreed to me putting up my own city! Defiance will be a Rebel PvP city, located northwest of Restuss on Rori. We have 7 citizens at this moment. Hope we get 3 more before time runs out lol. I'll probably have more to say next week.

To celebrate the increase in house inventory and to encourage the citizens to spruce up their pads, I have started a town decorating contest. It ends next Monday. The rules are the house must be public, only one room can be judged, and the citizens need to email me their intention to enter. It has a few people riled up and going on a decorating binge, I'm sure that in the next week it will pick up even more.
We are still using our city bulletin board extensively to discuss city business. I'm also excited to report that our polls are currently at a record high for participation! Okay, its only 1 extra vote, but I'm happy to see it nevertheless.

Good luck in getting the shuttle Jan that would be great t have in your city and i do realy hope that Devs will fix sales tax even my city dont need it but some other mayer friends are having hard time in managing the founds.
The sales tax on it dont do much but sales + income + shuttle ticktes + garage repair tax would help alot if not cover the city maintance.
It Would be great too if Devs...*by mistake* fix and restore the master politican box power, Scientific Society & Industrial Society which would be great thing to have.

Exciting times for Crimson Flats, Talus Kettemoor:
Our main guild, Crimson Elite has had a gone-to-WOW guild leader since October. This week, I split off and formed my own crafters/entertainers/hunters guild within the city. Unbelievable problems naming a new guild! Finally after many tries the name Dreamers Guild <DG> took, not what we were trying for at all but fine!
The next day, the guild leader of CE disbanded CE and now, a high portion of the citizenry floats unguilded, waiting for the interim leader to start his guild.
We are home to a third guild of crafters/resource folks the Triad.
I remain mayor till the next election which I expect in a week and a half.It will be interesting to see if I retain office and can keep these groups together. It seems to me successful cities have several guilds in residence, I am hoping I'm right. I also hope that city and alliance chat tabs become available in game very soon.
Minnie, Mayor of Crimson Flats, Talus/Kettemoor

We have an exciting week. Cities on Corelliahave beencapped, of course, but a few days ago one City dropped to Township so that's our opportunity to finally get our own shuttle, and more streetlights!
That is not certain yet, since there could be one Township somewhere which I haven't noticed which update is before ours.
Our city has lived 15 months without the shuttle, but we have never needed one badly since Tyrena is so easy to reach. Our small tightly packed city is on a river island sobyfollowing 2km the river we almost collide with the Tyrena Star Port. But our crafters have been waiting the shuttle sooo long. So let's see shall we get it....
