Hi,

is it possible to move the city hall a few meters and place it again without loosing all the citzens?

- will the citizens automatic become citizens again when i place the city hall again, or must they declare residense again??

- What happens to other city structures if i move the city hall?

help and facts about this issue would be nice.

regards

DinesenDK.

there is no option to redeed the city hall. the only way you can move it is to destroy the current one and place a new one, which means you're effectively starting a new city (back at rank 1 and everything)

Yes, but you have to take down all city structures before you take down the city hall building or they will go poof! And, you will have to buy a new city hall building because the original one will not be redeeded. You will need to pull out any funds in the treasury too as when the city hall goes - it goes poof too - you can take out 50k per day. Also, all citizens have to redeclare citizenship (at least 10 withing 24 hours of placing the new building) and, any citizens who are chars of people no longer in game you will lose. And, you will lose your current city status - it will go up one level per cycle if you have enough citizens for each level, and if the planet isn't capped for the higher levels if you are currently that high.

We were going to do this in our city as a mountain takes up a big chunk of our radius blocking growth, but realized the only viable place for the new building to go down was too far away from citizen houses for enough people to re-declare and get back our levels without having everyone move ... just isn't worth the headache and hassle, so we have put it off until a future date if ever at all.

Good luck!

I wish it were possible without all the negative consequences. My city hall has an old sign on it that I dont want but Ive been told by three csr's that the only way to change the sign is to destroy city hall and place a new one. As a metropolis this is something that I simply cannot do so Im stuck with it.

Old sign? Is there a way to make it read something other than City Hall? If so, this should be allowed to be changed.

In the beginning yes the mayor was allowed to change the sign on city hall and the clone center. Our original mayor took advantage of that to proudly note the two guilds that lived in the city. After those guilds merged into a new guild I (the mayor at the time) tried to change the sign but to no avail, the ability had been removed. Ive tried to get a CSR to change it to at least say: City Hall. On all three occasions Ive gotten the same response: Destroy City Hall and place a new one. Ive worked hard to achieve and maintain a metropolis and Im not going to just throw that away and start over.

Ouch. I too am running a Metro. I'd love to see the ability to do this and I'm not sure why it would have been removed. Here's to hoping it get's added!
