Well, not the tent itself, but that footprint is HUGE for the size of the structure. Is there any architects that can tell me why it needs to be that big?

Dev's formal request to make the footprint the size of the building itself for those.

Shab, I am in HUGE agreement with you...our merchant row plan had to be stopped because it was going to stretch from one end of city limits to beyond city limits on the other side...and we're a metropolis!

Instead of 3x3 please make the tent 2x3 or 3x2 or 2x2 would be excellent!

This was near the top of the initial feature request thread. Still hoping we see it changed - they're nowhere near as useful as they could be with the added flexibility of a smaller footprint.

imo all prints are too big... you got to build each buildings 20000m from each others, then when you try to fill in the spaces with decorations it says ' Too close to this building' . So basicly you end up with large empty spots with nothing to do with them.

Really crappy if you ask me to make city customization with such intense limitations.

True, I think decorations should be able to overlap lot space, and merchant tents should count as decorations for placement purposes. We were trying to place a statue in fromnt of City Hall the other day and a large Naboo was a good 15m away and didn't allow the placement of the statue.

No, seriously, for the size of the tent, we could make much better use of the city space than the footprint it generates. We'd wanted to have a tight, bazaar-like cluster of tents in one area, but they will end up being very spread out, and I don't quite get why this has to be.
