Thread: City Faction Curiosities
Please forgive me if this has been answered in another thread on this forum. I've been pretty regular here and cannot remember seeing it.
There has been a lot of discussion lately with changes coming to the city militia abilities (loss of /citywarn). We have noticed that in our city with a predominantly Rebel population and city structures placed by a covert Rebel mayor, if an Overt Rebel dies and re-spawns in our cloning center, they remain overt.
In NPC cities all overts become covert upon cloning.
If an overt imperial dies and clones in our Rebel city cloning facility, they re-spawn covert.
This is something we had to discover ourselves, and we would very much like to know how faction affects other city structures/abilities/etc. Also, what determines the faction of a city and its structures? Is it only the faction of the person placing the structure? Is it the population?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
I have noticed this too, and it could become a grief source. We had an Imperial group and attacked a rebel city. When we killed the overt rebels there, they came out of the cloning center overt. At first I thought they had placed a faction terminal in there (clever idea). But they just kept dying and cloning and dying and cloning... overt. I finally asked the lead Rebel how they were doing this. He said that they kept cloning overt.
I realized that this was griefing because that they could not exit their cloning center without dying. So I said my farewells and went on my way. I think the other Imps stayed there and killed them for a while longer.
I do not know if you clone overt if you "die overt" or if your clone was "stored overt"... meaning, can you die covert and if your clone is stored as overt, will you appear overt?
Bug or by design? hmmm....
Our Cantina was placed by a covert rebel and when my neutral dancer trys to register it says I cannot register because I'm neutral trying to register in a factioned building.
Hmmm...interesting. Good info flowing in. Plinka, if you happen to read this, any chance of getting some answers? Is this information already printed somewhere we haven't looked?
Yes. We are an Imperial city, and we have found that if we die overtand clone in our town, we clone overt.
So yes, if you clone in your own cloners (where you are a declared citizen), you will clone overt, provided you were overt when you died.

I've heard of Imperial/rebel Mayor's placing Gardens that show up as said faction
IE Imperial Medium Garden
though i can not confirm this yet
