How come I can't trade in my faction points for politician training. I can get training pretty much in everything else, but that! it is not fair that we have to wait a week to get a few hundred XP!!

I believe it is fair and I am glad you can't trade in faction to get EXP. Especially when 10k exp for the top tier box isn't all that much if you think about it for faction points.

They made politician an actual, true class. No one can "grind" to get it and I think it is better because the true politicians don't care how much exp they get a week for they are on it for the long run.

But all those professions you can get xp all the time, by doing something. Politician XP you only get by how many people are in the city each week. And if you are not in a city and running for mayor, there is noway you can get XP. I am not crying about it, just a question as to why it is not offered. I could care less, because I am still going to get the XP, I just think there should be other ways to get XP than just the election.

because the devs didn't really create a "Politician" Profession. They created a Mayorial Profession. After all, you said it yourself, you can't BE anything BUT mayor with Politician so what purpose would it be to give XP for something pointless. Should it be that way? Maybe not. But it is.

why would you want toget expif you are not a mayor of a city or even trying to be one? Just don't worry about it, it is better like this because once you do reach Master Politician, that is a feat that not many will accomplish.

The whole point of another way to get xp is to become a mayor. If you get into a city, nobody is going to want to vote you in as mayor if you are not advanced. I ran into the problem already, luckily i got into my own city. If you are a novice, nobody wants you and if that is the case you will never get xp or if you were able to get into a city, you will get 100 points a week. That is nothing. So really what happened is there will only be a select few politicians in the game that can do everything, and if you missed the boat of a new city, you are screwed!

totally wrong... first off you just need the levels in Politician to place structures. As most have found out the specializations are not very special at all. Really the only tree a politician needs for constant building is City Customization. Because once you place Clone, Bank, Mission Terminals, etc, not much else.... And yes a Novice Politician can be Mayor of town and not place a Cloning Center but still run a cloning center.

A great deal of early-on mayors have exhausted their time, energy, and patience with the profession. There are plenty of old mayors BEGGING for a new capable and stable mayor to come along to free up those much wasted Skill Points

I also have to disagree with you gunther. Just because a mayor is a novice doesn't mean they would not be a good mayor. There are many cities that do not like the current mayor and would vote in another politician that is better. Skill is nota big deal to most of the bigger cities for they have most of what they want now. Novice politicians trying to get into a city have an easier time then you think if they play their cards right and prove they would be a better mayor.
