Thread: what if the politican is disgruntled?
ok... now i am not the mayor for the city we jsut put up.. and i have a simple quesiton.. what IF the mayor finds out that people are not liking the job he is doing... and he gets pissed off... and decides well if they dont awnt me for a mayor then they cant have a city... and he destroys it.... can they REALLY just up and destroy the city on a whim? or does it have to be a group decision via a vote or something?.. because if they can destroy the city on a whim.. isnt that pretty stupid? i mean... come on.. if one person gets upset bceause they get voted out of office.. isnt it unfair to everyone who have put ther etime and effort money into making the city great....for just one person to decide to be a bung hole and destroy it?...
so can a politican destroy the city whenever he wants? and if he can.. i say we make SOMETHING or anything to try and implement something that prevents him from doing that..
i say that just because i do not entirely know our current mayor by heart.. and its just something i have been wondering
As a politician, I believe there should be a safeguard to prevent any mayor from destroying the city hall. Many mayors will state "i bought it, thus it is mine" mentality. Well I provided the majority the resources for the city hall in our town (not mine) and I placed it and I am the mayor. If the citizens wish to vote me out, they can. Will I get mad and destroy the city hall? No, my ego isn't that fragile or inflated.
I wish there was a way to put issues on the ballot box. So the mayor wants to destroy the city hall, then let the people vote on it.
Unfortunatly at the moment they only way you could potentially work around it is if you had everybody vote for a second politican minutes before an election cycle begins and pray to jeebus that the current one does not notice. If a current mayor wants to he can destroy all civic structures except the cantina and the med facility.

I heard that this tactic worked for a group . . . before they went and talked to the current Mayor, they made themselves another city hall deed. They approached him fairly and just told him why they were voting him out, and when he said he would destroy the Hall if they did, they offered him a choice: he could destroy the Hall as the game allowed, and they would immediately place the one in their inventory, or he could take the one in their inventory after the vote passed in the new person's favor. Either way, they were going to have the mayorship change that week whether he liked ot or not. Of course the old mayor countered with the growth tactic (if he destroyed the Hall they were going to have to wait through growth cycled again) but they came back that they just simply didn't care, it was something they would have to deal with. The old Mayor grudgingly waited until the vote, at which time he lost and was given a new city hall deed, to go and start a new city again, or to sell as payment for his services.
