Each week when the player city is due to advance (calculated based on the time you put the city hall down, and then also allowing for server downtime), the server calculates the taxes, etc to be collected from the citizens. The tax is automatically paid and citizens are sent an email notifying them that their taxes have been paid. So, the monies are collected once a week.

hi this may have already been addressed but i was wondering when property tax is "collected"... is it continuous during the week or all at once during the city update?
