Just to make sure....

Were the other houses already there when the hall went down, and do you have zoning turned on?

If that's the case, granted zoning rights only last 24 hours.

If not, then I have no idea.

Has anyone run in to this problem. My guild has been trying to get our own city, and we were able to place on this last patch. Problem is we can not seem to build on one side of the city. We are in the middle of no where. The nearest city is 2000m away. We are on flat ground. We tried placing anywhere from 60m to 145m from the City Hall on that one side and everyone gets the BUILDING IS NOT PERMITED message. Any ideas? Here is what it looks like. I have been running around with the map overlay just incase something is buried under the sand on Tatooine. But I have found nothing. Is this a bug? I can setup a camp on the area without a problem.

Stupid no edit button.

Basically, if you have zoning turned on, make sure the people placing have zoning rights granted before they place.

Thanks for the reply! We just setup up this town and were trying to make the dead line for the 24hrs and 10 members time line. We just made it with 15 min to spare. The Mayor said that she could not turn on zoning rights and that she tought that was only for special buildings not homes. I am guessing this is a bug. Because we were in the first stages of becoming a city. I am hoping that the server rest may have taken care of this bug I will have to log on and see tonight.

It may not have shown up, but did turn them on.

If that doesn't work...ack. Most of my response from CSRs on city problems has been "We can't fix that, we have to ask the devs to do it."

Good luck!

Where exactly is this? There are several POIs with "No Build Zones" around them, such as the Lars Homestead with an over 400m No Build Zone Radius around it.

Well here is the information the SOE CSR sent me about our problem. We put our city hall on a boarder of POI that is reserved for future use. What makes me mad is that you cannot put a player city next to another player city with out getting 1000m away from city hall. Why should it be any different for a POI??? This is what happened to us first, when the city cap was raised we were able to place our first city to the side of our GH and not in a preferred location due to another city that had sprung up, when city's were first released. We also were not able to incorperate or 2 HQ that cost us LOTS of FP to get! Next problem we did not get the required 10 people so poof went our first city hall. So with all this information we looked for another location that was free of other citys or GH. We found what we thought was a good open location. We placed our new city hall and started building and moving. We got the required 10 people but discovered that we could not build on one side of the city hall. So I started trying to figure out what was going on. I looked at the overlay map and ran around looking for hidden areas under the sand. I could not find anything. So I sent a trouble ticket to SOE and got a response. The CSR said to either build around it or move the city hall. He said sorry and there was nothing he could do! Well that makes me mad! Now I have to make a decision on whether to move the city hall or build around it! This will be city hall # 3! SOE you need to fix this problem! This is not fair to anyone trying to place a city! Here is what I suggest!

1.) Make "Building is not Permitted" Zones flash up on the screen similar to trade request. So when I am running through the area I get a message letting me know that!

2.) Build a city planning tool that scans the area up to 500M radius, that give the Mayor an idea whether or not this would be a good place to build. It could show "No Build Zones" and adjacent cities if they are near. It could even show terrain lay out and what would be able to be built on.

3.) Make "No Build Zone's" conform to the rules that are in place with adjacent cities 1000m buffer!

4.) Be more detailed about building City Halls and cities structures! This could be done on all of your poorly written guides! Your city hall primer needs more detail! The way we have had to find out is not fun! It has been costly and very frustrating! You guys knew this but left it out of your guide!

5.) Make HQ's redeedable! Why should they not be?!?! If not put that information in the online manual so we know that!

Very Unhappy!,
