Thread: Poll: Time to leave town after /warned

Since the thread Baj created has a fairly consistent request only with varied results I feel we should poll the idea so as to make it much simpler for him in the final top 5. So if /citywarn is put back into the game fairly similiar to what it was how long do you feel the warned character should recieve before getting a TEF and is attackable by the militia?

Good poll.


But remember that the actual amount of time should be easy to tweak on TC and even up and down in response to play on the live servers. For our response, we can certainly include a suggestion to increase the amount of time on warn, but I don't think we need to be the ones to nail down a precise time limit.

Well the thing is that this has been requested several times (only with different amounts) in the militia thread you made so I'm just assuming that this idea will make it to at least TH's doorstep so why not give them a less broad idea. If we tell the dev's that the time limit on /warn is too low and it needs to be increased we are playing russian roulette in a sense. They could double the current or go as high as 10 minutes. (which is silly and why I didn't put it on the poll, it allows for a few friends to come shuttling in and start a war meanwhile the char warned can't leave via shuttle since you likely banned him as well)


If we all come to either a consensus or a majority on what the time frame is I feel that it would be much better to have the e-mail say that, and tell them that it has leeway up or down, over requiring them to fill in the blank. Final decision is of course up to you however I feel this would help the proccess.

I suggest 1 Minute ...


IF /citywarn is back in the way it was ... Only a timestopper of over 30 min will prevent the exclusion of players from ingame content by "greifing" cities on POIs ... (or even more ... enough time for the players to actually use the ingame content they pay for). And because this would make /citywarn totaly useless again I would vote for 1 minute ... there simply is no "middle way" in these cases of blocking ingame content.


But as I do not see that the devs will even begin to think about going through the huge amount of work of removing every town (with 250ish buildings per town, items in buildings, etc.) from every POI that doesn't have a No Build Zone around it (either because the devs forgot it, didn't think about it or the POI is new) and place it somewhere else or "grief" the players on their part by simply destroying or nerfing only the towns near to such POIs ... I don't see the old /citywarn coming back ... face it
