Thread: How can I cut my city's expenses?
I would suggest you look into ways of gaining income instead of cutting down cost though. explain to your citizens that the city needs money to run, and it's not the mayor's responsibility to "feed" the treasury. you can put a tax on your garage (assuming you didn't pull it up to save cost), or put in property and/or income tax.
Also removing town registration on the planetary map.
Our town has 2 lottery droids that we place every week for people who have extra cash. They are set to 50/50 so that 50% goes to the prize pool and 50% goes to owner of droids. We set them up as 50k and 5k and generally we rake in 400k a week from these droids. It's a little more fun than flat donations...but it takes a dedicated mayor to keep up with it.
Another suggestion is just do a group hunt and all mission payouts go to the city. 8 peoplewith 2 missions eachat 8k per mission = over 1 million. That easily pays for 2 weeks worth of my rank 3 fully decorated research center.
Just have to be creative with fundraising.

Can you tell me how this works? It's a very good idea.
I kinda cheat when I do this cuz we have a large garden in front of our shuttleport that prevents us from adding any Event Perks near anything. But basically I pull up the garden...place the 2 droids and then replace the garden...and now they are standing in our garden.
But as far as the lottery goes...just go to a hotel of a major city...I go to Theed hotel. Buy 2 lottery droid deeds from the Player Events NPC (in the back right corner and you are coming in). Go back to your city and place them in a high trafiic zone. Set the length of lottery for 1 week, set the payout to 50%, and the last step is to advertise. I usually send out an email to my guild and on average, I get 13-18 people registering for our 50k lottery and 15-22 people registering for the 5k lottery. which translates to about roughly 400k for the city each week. Our city expenses are 478k per week so it offsets the cost just a bit. We do supplement with the grouphunt thing and we did a Krayt hunt pre-CU and made 5 mill in about an hours work. Our current treasury is about 8 mill so the lottery droids help to make that 8 mill go a long way.
