Any tips on how to make it go by any faster, and will the devs ever give politicians a break. More xp, faster times to grind it...how many items we place Ie...lights, gardens, etc, should grant us say 3k of xp.

Also, Everytime I try to grant zoning rights, it says that I must be the mayor in order to grant zonning rights...

I AM the mayor and for the xp to be this slow, I can't even place lights without having to wait however many weeks just to get enough xp to get up that far...

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this go faster.

My City is a city made up of 12 friends and we are very, very picky about who we want in our city, as there are a lot of untrustworthy people in game...most are honest, but even more so would rather cheat and rip you blind, than be honest with you...I know about this issue because I had a small community that had afew new commers to the game and they ripped us off badly...so bringing just anyone into our city is not an option...

I would appreciate any and all incomming advice and tips.

Votes are the only way to get xp. (Other than the 750 xp per week you get for being mayor.) The only way to make your xp gain faster is to get more people to vote for you.

Make sure you read the Politician and Player City Guide along with the FAQ in the "Read Me" sticky. It will answer a lot of the questions you just asked.

Politician isn't a "grind" profession. You *can't* grind it as it's not meant to be that way.

As far as the zoning message, you have to be outside with the person you want to grant zoning to targeted. Otherwise it won't work.

Ok, thanks for the answers. They really helped a lot.

Also, I was outside with the person that needed zoning rights, and I had them clicked on, but still got the same message.

I'll head over to the FAQ again.

You also need to be inside the city limits to grant zoning rights. Sometimes you don't get the message that you've left city limits until your are well outside the boundry line (and sometimes you don't get the message that you have entered the city until your well within the borders).

I found that the /grantzoningrights did not work, however doing just a /grant did.

I've always done /grantzoning. Guess /grantzoningrights isn't a command.

lol, well when I tried the /grantzoningrights it told me that I had to be the Mayor...I AM THE MAYOR..

But I had figured it out.

However now my account is under a investigation, well the CSR that accessed it is...*sigh* I'm about ready to give up. /cries

I've never used anything but /grantzoningrights, I just found out recently that /grant or /grantzoning will work too.
