But why i just put 2 weeks and 1.5 mil into a town to find out now when i am capable of getting level 4 i won't be able too and who's it hurting to let a shuttle port in each town but just limit the # of cities?

Well thats really a question for the devs, but i think its so that each planet doesn't have 100 different shuttleports, that would be unrealistic and kinda rediculous. The number of cities is also limited, then there is a limit on the amount of each rank a planet can have. Again the FAQ might be able to answer your questions fully.

Does every city in your country have an airport? No.
So why should every city on Tatooine/Dantooine/Rori/etc have a shuttleport? If every "village" could have a shuttleport, there'd be no reason to go up to level 4.

because the next question will be "why can't we all have our own city?"

Is it true that only a certain # of towns on a planet can have a shuttle port?

Yes, there is a limit to the number of each level city on each planet - so that limits the number that make it to having a shuttle.

Yes, every planet has a cap on the number of cities which can place a shuttleport. You can read the faq in the stickies to read more in depth

ok i can see your point there but still its seems a little... stupid that when people put time and effort into something that they can't reap the full benifit because people who've be playing longer took up all the room... and if that dosn't work why don't we throw some other planets into the mix here soon so some of us newer playerscan actually have a "city"

Don't forget that you also have the option of *joining* some of those older, established cities if you want their benefits but can't reach them on your own because of city caps.

personally, I think that the issue/problem here is ghost cities and the structures/citizens that won't go away, thus allowing older cities to keep their rank without active citizens. wouldn't it make more sense if they fixed that (which they said they will at fanfest with the "purge") so newer cities can advance, and keep shuttleports as something special?
