I was a mayor of City A.

City B asked me to join them.

I packed up my house from City A, took it to City B. Declared it my residence and went to City B's voting terminal to register to run.

I got a message saying that I was already the mayor of another City (City A).

Went to City A to resign from the voting. Got told it was the last week and I had to wait it out.

I did that and voting has ended. So I checked the voting terminal and no one is registered.

Thinking I won the election, but dont want to register, I figure I am no longer part of City A. So I go to City B to find out I cannot register to run because I am *STILL* mayor of another city.

So I come here to check a few posts and cannot for the life of me figure out how to resign from City A so I can register to run in City B.

Is someone else able to help me work out how to do this before even more of my hairs turn grey?

yes, you won the election, and therefore is the mayor of city A again. that seems pretty clear...

someone needs to register to run against you in city A and win (so that he/she is the mayor of city A and not you) before you can go to city B.

So in short, I have to wait another 3 weeks before I can join City B?

Yep, and be sure that you have someone win the election of city A or it will be another 3 weeks after that.

I heard rumors if nobody registers to run, at the time of elections, the cityhall will poof? is that accurate?

no. if no one registers to run then the mayor retains his/her position.
