I know we may be in a unique situation but here goes my story. Ragnarok is a guild only city with around 110 to 130 residents (usual fluctuations). The Power Empire (our guild) run a very succesfull mall and consequently I can proudly say our economy is absolutely booming. However, over the past few months since citys startedwe have ammased a lot of cash that is now simply stuck in the city treasury. I know some of you will jump up and say "well you can take 50k a day out" - at my reckoning it would take over a year to withdraw the cash within it. I assume this is in place for citys where a new mayor could get in power and just rip up the treasury and leave the city dead.

I do appreciate that but it would be nice if we had something to spend this cash on. As it stands at the turn ofthis year our city (assumingour guild stays put and Ragnarok continues to be a top 3 city on the server)will have around a billion in credits. My point being, I love the idea of things such as space stations with the space expansion and other space related items. I can live with the 50k a day thing if wecan get something to reinvest the cash with. I guess its safe for a rainy day but I like to give something back to the city community which at the moment is difficult to do beyond the city limitations. If we can make certain items buyable through city treasury cash only that would be pretty cool.

Not really a rant, more of a thought =)

A billion in credits...wow

Ever thought of dropping your taxes? Would probably be a HUGE incentive to get more citizens if you advertised that the town is solvent for the next 5 years in SWG and no more taxes too.

Its been at 5% 5% 1000 credits since day one. Like I said its a TPE guild only city so people who join the guild tend to set up residence anyway. I used to take a weekly thursday donation but that has been stopped completely with us using the city as our funding for future endevours. I just noticed the 50k a day limit last week when I thought it might be wise to invest some of our cash for the guild.

Like I said I am not complaining just hope that any future city type facilities such can be paid for out of the treasury, otherwise we will just be in this constant cycle of cash getting locked away. Hoping the space expansion brings us some funky features to add to the city!

Even though its not a billion.. I can feel your pain.

One of my citizens ment todonate 1.3 million, and accidently donated 13 million. Theres no way I am going to take out 50k a day for almost a year.

Sheesh man, turn off the sales tax

We have an extremely active economy as well and for a couple months, we funded the city by running the sales tax at 1% for one day per week. We took the route of raising money through alternative means so that we were able to keep more cash on hand - taking donations, selling lots, etc... this gives us a lot more control over our finances. Since we really have no problem raising money when we need to, we have just decided to turned the tax off altogether.

Why are you still charging sales tax when you have that much in your treasury??? Our city doesn't have anywhere near that amount in ours, yet we don't charge any kind of taxes.. and have no plans on doing so.

Turn em off...give your citizens a break!
