Hi, a new mayor here with a predicament. I currently have a small house placed in a city that I recently became mayor of. I want to put down a guild hall, but need 9 lots to do so. I thought that it was possible to declare residence in the city hall, but I do not see the option to do so. I am curious as to what will happen if I pick up my residence (small house) for a few minutes until I declare the guild hall as my new residence. Will I lose my status as mayor because I am no longer a resident? Would the city be disbanded with no mayor? Help! I can't seem to find the answer to this elsewhere.

When u become mayor of a city you residence is auto declared at the city hall, i would be very surprised if the city disbanded because you moved your house

Thanks for the info. I just want to be sure I don't do anything in haste that I regret. Ignorance is NOT an excuse!

ummm...I'd be very careful as I have heard of a city going poof straightaway because the Mayor redeeded his residence. I have also heard firsthand of a newly laid down city thatpoofed because someone pulled up house #10 (and thus resident #10) within the 24 hour initial period.

You may want to get a CSR to stand by for when you do it - as a just in case.

Truly, that is good advice if what you say is true! How would I go about getting a CSR to stand-by in game? Should I create a customer service ticket? Thanks, and keep the advice coming.

Yes, create a ticket, explain your situation and your fear, and they might be able to show up and watch over you

Mayors don't need houses inside the city. Think back to the founding for the city. The Mayor is a resident instantly, even before any other houses are part of the city. Mayors reside in city hall - Though if you look in your Character Sheet you'll be a "Wanderer" with no official residence.

--from my personal experience. After I moved our city I went back to the old location and redeeded myi house. When I came to the new city location and placed my house, I tried to "declare residence". I was notified that my residency was city hall.

syd1, I believe that to be true, but I did not found this city, and had to become a citizen before I could run for mayor. I tried to declare residence at the structure management terminal, but can't. And when I declare residence at my current small house, it says that it is my declared residence.
