I'm not sure if you've read many of my posts, but I *have* listed the usefulness of /cityban, city defense (like /citywarn), and militia ranks as things that they should look into. now I can't guarantee that they *look* at it, but the document is there on the correspondent forum.

Greetings,

I am Nerate Mireth, Militia Captain in the fine city of Babelon on Naboo (Lowca Server). We are a neutral city with citizens from all 3 factions (Imp/Reb/Neutral) and try to keep things friendly and peaceful. Since Player Cities went live there have been several issues that have arisen in our city as well as others. While this list is short I would expect that some of this will be agreed upon.

1. Cityban. This is useless as stands. Ban someone from buying a ticket out of the city but they can still buy a round trip into/out of city from another location.. They can't go into city hall. Who cares!

Solution: Cityban should be truly universal allowing access to NO STRUCTURES (merchant tents, homes, cloning facilities, shuttles & ticket collector) in the city. If someone has added them to their entry list for some reason then the banned can go in there but that's it.

Otherwise, what is the point of having militia? We are nothing more than zoners when the mayor isn't around. Which brings me to my next point.

2. Citywarn. This was taken away because of griefing. I've heard 2 LEGITIMATE stories about griefing with this. Bottom line, grief me with citywarn, I won't shop your city, your city loses income, your city dies, you defeated yourself.

Solution: Put citywarn back in SELECTIVELY. Guilds can delegate different abilities via the Guild Management Terminal. Cities should be able to as well. Give select people citywarn back or work it on a formula like: Total Militia w/Citywarn=5% current city population. If population dips down the mayor is given a mail and 1 week to either increase the population or remove citywarn from 1 person else the system will remove it from all and the mayor will have to put it back on the militia again.

3. Civil Servants Ranks: None currently. Give Mayors ability to assign a Militia Captain. Tha person can then sponsor someone to be militia. The mayor then just approves it. Also currently the mayor is the only one who can put down lamp posts/statues/gardens/etc. Give the militia captain or a seperate rank (City Designer) the same ability. We've had some problems in the past with militia giving zoning rights out like candy. Now our mayor has placed lamp posts in key areas to prevent people from building more merchant tents in our marketplace. Currently we have to wait for our mayor to get online to move these so that a new merchant can setup shop which is a real pain for us and them.

This is just my opinion and I know most likely none of this will come to pass and this thread will die in a couple of days.

Ok...I read through alot of things on this forum in the past and will look back over some other things. I just wish me and my militia didn't feel like glorified city-zoners every time there's a griefer or trouble maker in the city.
