Hi, i am politician of a city and personally i think that players citys are too simple, i would suggest you to create a floor to teh citys, a system to drop furniture like tables and chairs, a system to create walls around the city, i suggets u to create a politician revamp, i think its not the most important thing but if u sse there are lots of players citys that are empty and need things to attract people to live, come and STAY there.... Thank u guys! really like SWG!

Plz send this post to all teh devs if it is possivel =)

It'll happen, just won't occur until the expansion comes out and they revamp more important core systems like combat and the GCW (which we get a rider on for some changes). Possibly even crafting. But someday...

Honetly most of the politican revamp is a dream. I'd like to think part of it may come with the GCW revamp, but who knows. I think we should shoot for the first publish after Christmass becaue it gives time for JTL bugs, the remainder of the combat balance and the GCW revamp. If you think about it the combat balance is a revamp of all the compat professions, so after that which profession has yet to get a decent revamp?

I just want citywarn back. Player cities were meant to give players autonomy in their cities, to make and enforce their own laws, etc. Hence, the roleplaying. But now, all we can do is /cityban *gasp*!!! Oh no! I can't clone here or shuttle out! The horror!! Now, if I gave you 2 minutes to get out of my city before 10 militia beat the crap out of you, there's some ability to actually ROLEPLAY in player cities, and unless I missed something, this is still a MMORPG........right???

I'd look for a revamp in the fall '05 expansion...

sadly I'm not joking. Player Cities have not been on the devs radar since they went live last November and they have a ton of other things to tackle before they get around to this.

Well you have to realize that what the devs have been working on the hardest is getting the game "complete." For the first 6 months or so that meant getting mounts, cars, and player cities out the door. Ever since then it's basically getting the space expansion out and putting the Star part in Star Wars. This means they pretty much let balance and realism go to hell in the game more or less, and had content get thrown in haphazardly. Well JTL completes the game as they envisioned it so afterit hits shelvesthey'll be fully focused on revamping things and reorganizing. The combat and gcw revamps will take a while I'm sure, but having an extra 70 some bodies working on everything has to be helpful in getting them done faster and being more expansive then if it came out before or shortly after JTL went live.

I figure that by this time next year at the latest we'll be coming up with a list of what we want/need for the devs to actually write the code on instead of put in a good idea pile.

player cities were designed to be built, but not 'continued'. following the politician skill sheet reflects this - you gain skills at about the same time a new city would hit the levels that need those skills. There was no allowance made for existing cities, and thats why many feel politician is a skill point dump. A revamp would be nice, but i think its asking for too much. Politicians are the smallest profession (fewest players) and running player cities has the smallest impact on players (vs combat balance, gcw, space expansion, missions, ect... role playing has rarely been a goal of the developers) so everything done for us will probably have to piggy back on other publishes. We won't have so much of a revamp as a trickle of fixes i imagine.

(this response is a bit tongue-in-cheek -- with just a dash of seriousness thrown in. It is Monday after all and I have to attent a corporate outreach meeting for the next few hours.

Politician and the player-run city's arethe most importantfundemental core system in this game effecting a huge all the players every day. Theses important citys need to be totally removed and revamped adding the ability to control entire regions of a planet through the development of urban complexes spanning several citys, providing city-based missions with some of the reward going into the city treasury, gcw content -- DID YOU HEAR THAT????? I SAID GCW CONTENT FOR THE PLAYER-CITYS!!!!, and a broader diversity of placeable structures and decorations. The politician skill tree needs to be completed, as well asimproved with more substantial city managementtools.

TheGCW and CB work should be pushed back for the city/politician revamp ....I am a self centered Politician -- arent we all???...but.....I am also a realist in this virtual world and know that that will never happen, not in a blue moon, or a month of sundays, or a snowballs chance in heck.

So I sit here patiently, waiting for new stuff and fixes to the leaky plumbing in this ceramic sink of a game. All the while enjoying the great communitys that have been built by myself and others in this online game.

Cheers!

Hadrian
