Dear Fellow Politicians,

I am delighted to announce that I, Duke Delano Duvivier, Mayor of Darkfire, Leader of the Darkfire Guild, Tatooine, Naritus, have decided to allow opponents to challenge me in my city so that I may show my true greatness in the forthcoming elections.

With an astonishing war record, great wealth and massive political achievements behind me, I am confident of the firmness of my grip on power, but I also acknowledge that I cannot live forever, and that one day someone will have to replace me to maintain Darkfire as the thriving, diverse, genuine community that it is.

We will hold Political debates in theDarkfire City Hall where the citizens can decide if they want to keep me, their great and glorious leader, or take a risk with an unproven politician who is driven only by ambition and not by the needs of the citizens of Darkfire.

Even when you lose, just a few weeks campaigning with me will give you young dogs the experience you need to quickly build your own city in the future when you run from town with your tail between your legs.

The fee to register your campaign is a reasonable200,000 credits, which will be refunded if you win the election, and you will be given permission to place a house in the Royal Quarter in the South side of the City and to invite as many of your friends and PA members as you like.

Alas, you will not be given access to the Darkfire Television channel which allows you to communicate with all citizens, as this is privately owned by the Darkfire Guild, but you are free to campaign in the city at all times, as long as you obey the laws enforced by our Enforcer, Bigbudder Stoney. However, you will be advised to stay away from the City Hall because of the fierce loyalty that the members of the guild have to me, their great leader.

To participate, you must be a neutral person, agree to abide by the rules of the City and agree to be gracious in defeat...

So where are all the budding politicians who complained about not having a chance to be mayor?

OH! I see, you did not want to be a politician, only to have a private little city for you and your friends? Well, that is not what this profession is about.

With all the whining and whinging about not be able to ever become a mayor because people will not let you, here I am, giving you a chance to run and there is not a single taker!

If you GENUINELY want to be in this profession and you do not have a city, then is a true opportunity for you to gain XP... I'm waiting!

(P.S. There was a mistake in my first post - where I referred to the Guild guarding the City Hall, I mean the Guild Hall - the City Hall is open to everyone 24x7 - we are a democracy )

HOWEVER,one person has taken up the challenge already - I would call her a conviction politician who thinks that a city with beautiful landscapes like Darkfire's should be handed over to Imperial control.

She is in the Catina now campaigning.

I do like Darkfire's landscape though - can't imagine it's easy to build on.

If you think of it this isnt that far fetched and unfair of an idea.. yeah this person may not win the first week but if they work at it.. they could win in the weeks to come.. and think about it... if someone brand new came.. into .. your fully grown town.. with all the ammenities.. is he likely to care about it as much as the people who worked hard and paid alot of money to establish it.. at least this way the person has put 200k towards the city of their own money .. and i vested into it if they ever do win..
