Thread: Allow /citywarn in Strongholds
I really like this idea -it is a reasonable compromise to the /citywarn issue.
Though for any city it would be nice if the mayor had a /motd command so they could say :
"Welcome to City <insert your city name here>, we hope you enjoy your stay"
OR
"You have just entered City <insert your city name here>, visitors will be shot!"

It doesn't deal with the issue of cities overlapping POIs though. Something needs to be done to that before they'd reintroduce citywarn, as denying access by warning was one of the issues mentioned. People should be able to avoid the cloning center camping now, even if they've cloned there, by selecting the nearest NPC place. But the POI griefing would still remain.
It's not that it's a bad idea in general, but I'd rather see a way in which it could be reintroduced to all cities. We'll end up with pretty much everyone being a stronghold, and not much else. From faction towns to peaceful trade villages, people want a way to deal with griefers.

/citywarn and cities overlapping POIs really are two separate issues that have been unfortunately been lumped together. It's like treating the symptoms and not the disease - not a very good practice.
The devs should never have made POIs build zones, but the damage is not unrepairable - they still can.
Expand POI radii before they lift the city caps.
Have cities that have abutted POIs a few days to pack up their things and move to a new location.
Then, when caps come in no one can own a POI.
You're right mixing the POI issue with /citywarn is just not right!
How about this: Flag Stronghold Cities as Travel Advisory Warning when you areat the Travel Terminaland that by entering you may be subject to a TEF via the /citywarn.
This prevents the issue of non-consentual PvP because the person travelling there knows this is a risk. It is kind of like the Battlefields. You can enter some of them as a neutral (but have to declare upon entering). By acknowledging that you are taking sides this removes any issue.
On a side note - When will we open this up to more than two sides? The beauty of game like DAoC lie in the paper-sissors-rock phenomenon. 3 sides (like adding Hutts) + neutrals would be awesome!
