Thread: Starport planned ?!
Factional terminals are an item that can be placed in player run cities, i'm not sure on the recruiters.
but if you put starports in player run cities, whats the point of going to an NPC city anymore for anything. plus it makes it to easy to go from your player on say naboo to the player run city thats right outside of the rebel theme park on Correlia. ( these are just possible examples.) Plus i think the empire controls all the Starport traffic anyways. so seriously doubt they'd allow a rebel aligned city to place one to dock all thier x-wings at for thier next run on the death star.

Why is it important to go to NPC cities? Why would you want to force people to go there? If you can give a good reason, maybe I'll agree with you, but otherwise, a spaceport should be an option - an expensive option mind you - but an option none the less.

yep and those will be ineffective (no such word as uneffective) too. Vehicles will erase the need for shuttleports... Space vehicles will erase the need for Starports... SOE actually has to limit the number of shuttleports. Very annoying going to shuttles now and having to sort through 10 extra ports that 99% of the SWG Community has no desire to go to anyhow.
lol vehicles will erase the need for shuttleports? i'm sorry but maybe it will limit the need on smaller planets like tatooine... but just an example our city is 11km from Nym's Stronghold... that means with a fast vehicle it'll still take 20 minutes to reach us assuming you aren't attacked... how will that erase the need for shuttleports?... the same holds true for starports... sure ships will be useful... but some people will want to go from point A to B without the trip... and 99% of the community has no desire to go anyhow? personally every shuttleport on our planet i find there is a good reason to go to it OTHER then the fact of visiting... the large player cities tend to be located in very good locations especially on larger planets... for ourselves we are located right beside a Droideka Dungeon... we are a city of imperials but are getting ridiculous visitors who aren't interested in attacking us but in hunting in the dungeon and the surrounding area... and most of the visitorsare rebels... it says a lot that overt imperials are not being attacked... ie. they appreciate our location and leniency towards coverts...our city isn't even ready for visitors yet they're swarming... how is this no desire to visit? shuttleports solve the biggest problem to date in SWG... the problem that it just takes too much time for the casual player to travel from one location to another... i can guarantee you that the Droideka Dungeon on our server has seen more action in the last 4 days then it has since this game was released...
