I want to be done with this profession and have somone in the city to replace me. Short of sending emails which many citizens ignore saying to vote for him, why is there no way to put him in office? I checked I couldn't even find a way to step out of office at all? I mean, I am done with it. Forcing me to stay is the ultimate greifing. What would happen if I got rid of my polotician skills? Please somone respond if there is a way....

Move your house and don't declare it as residence or declare in another house that is outside the city limits and then get rid of all your skills. That will remove you from the race, I believe, when the week is up.

There's no way to step down/resign. This is something I've asked for several times to no avail. I've yet to hear a valid, or any at all for that matter, reason why we can't have this in the game.

What can happen?

well if no one running has the skills to own the city hall game might just destroy it.

I agree it's unfortunate you need to perform a workaround...But what if you sent e-mails to your population telling them you were going to max out all taxes after the next election, but your challanger was not? If you get re-elected, make good on your promise and you should be out next week.

The city hall is ALWAYS the declared residence of the mayor. You cannot declare anywhere else. while you are the mayor. I don't recommend giving up your skills as politician till the new poli is voted in as mayor. Bad Bad things can happen.
