Thread: Cant re-deed the bank?
When I try to re-deed the bank I get the system message, "You are too far away to do that" Anyone else having trouble? I re-deeded the shuttleport and cloning center just fine.
I'm having the same issue in our city.
The answer to my CSR ticket was that they cannot redeed or forcibly move our bank because it would "have potentially dire consequences for our city."
After pressing the issue, I was told that they had "collected the information" and "submitted it to the devs," who are "the only ones who can move the bank."
I cry shenannigans on this.
Perhaps it is the honest truth, but it certainly smacks of "I cannot help thee with that," and, "You'll have to speak to a Senior Guide or GM."
I saw a thread about unmovable gardens where a workaround was to go to the other side of the garden and use the /destroystructure slashcommand. However, this has not worked for me.

At any rate, can we get an official response to this? Are these "you are too far away to do that" non-redeedable structures stuck where they are permanently?
Was this simply a case of a misinformed/uninformed CSR?
What are these apparently "dire consequences" to forcibly redeeding our bank?
Do said consequences apply to destroying it outright?
Anyone?
Here is what happens when you re-deed a bank or rather it gets destroyed due to lack of maintenance.....
All people owning safety deposit boxes get there items moved to the nearest npc city and now have bank accounts there. Hmm guess these could be dire, I sure wouldn't want someone moving a bank I had stuff in and then personally have to move all my stuff back to that bank.

banks are on a planetary level as mentioned. If you delete a PC bank, you can still access your bank contents from any or bank on the planet.
Ok ... this is what I expierienced with redeeding gardens ... maybe it can help ...
Sometimes the "You're to far away" message comes although I am in the corner where the terminal is ... but apparently sometimes the Strucure "thinks" the terminal is in another corner ... so I just went into the other corner (I think the corner where the terminal would be by default if the garden wasn't turned on placement) ... there I used the /command or was able to use the Terminal option from the other corner ...
So you might try to just use the command on the other side of the bank

Nope, banks are planet wide. I put all my things in the safety deposit box in both Bestine and Wafar. We placed a bank in Tusken's Bane and the items are in the safety deposit box. If I go to Bestine, I can still see my items in the safety deposit box there.
