Ok, I have been reading through tryin to answer some questions for myself, I have found some very good info and that city planner program seems awsome, but I still have a few questions. My guild is thinking of starting a small city, nothing major just for the guild.

1. Is the ground more forgiving when your placing a City type structure, i.e will a city hall fill in a hole or level ground that it sits on, and if so, will the ground around it be leveled as well?

2. Do all cities, towns, outpost show up on the planetary maps or is there a certain level it has to reach before it can be seen (I think I answered this for myself, but I'm not sure how up to date the SWG web-site is)?

3. Does anyone play on Sunrunner and know if Tat. is maxed out on cities?

Thanks for all you help in advance as I can tell by reading on this Forum that all you guys seem to help each other alot.

1. No city structures flatten land unfortunatly, they sit on whatever land you place them. This doesnt mean however that the land underneath say, your city hall has to be perfect. It has to be fairly flat but there is a small degree of unflat land you can use. In the case of the city hall, if the land is notperfectly flat you simply lose some of the ramps at the front of the city hall or even they are extended if placed on a downward slope. With holes, i think you can place the building over the top of a hole and it will cover it up, as long as the building is big enough. I know our guild hall was placed ontop of a ditch. Houses arent too bad and it is much easier to place them on uneven terrain.

2. Nope they dont, you need the politician skill to register your city on the planetary map which is in fiscal policy 1.

Not sure if i explained the land thing very well, let me know if its not clear enough.

Well as far as registering city, Not only do you have to have fiscal policy 1, BuT , you have to be City Rank 3 as well, (at least 35 residents)

Thanks for the help and the speed with which you responded, I have a hole that you cant put a house on but its not huge so I think the footprint of aCityhall will cover it, i guess theres really no way of knowing till we try and drop it. 1 other question is the city cap now 20?I know it was 10 when cities came out, I also remember it being raised, but I don't remember what it was raised to. Also do City structures take lots? Thanks again for the help

Civic structures don't take lots - so garage, cloning centre, shuttle port are all free

Other city buildings such as medical centres and theatres do however as they are placed by players...

Hello, you know me as Tarien or Kenos on Sunrunner, from the -E-G- guild. Yes Tatooine is maxed out on cities, nearly every planet is, for some reason, there's been a boom in cities over the last few months. Dantooine, Corellia, Tatooine and I think (not 100% on this) that Naboo is too. That leaves Lok, Rori and Talus.

If you want to however, you are more than welcome to Phoenix Valley on Naboo, where -E-G- is placed. We're very lax about what people want to do, have Research Centre specialisation, and are working closely with a nearby city on creating a joint force for placing factional bases, to promote some PvP. We're close to Moenia for it's shuttleport and starport (can't get our own due to the pesky caps, but it's just a matter of time).

If you'd like to talk more about it, just send me a tell ingame.
