Thread: About to grow to rank 5, but worried about...

...what happens if I fall below 85 citizens. Do the planetary caps on cities mean that some other city will grow to rank 4 and take our "spot" at rank 4 if we happen to shrink back from level 5 to level 4? In other words, is there any risk involved in growing to rank 5?

The way it works is that only 10 cities can be Rank 4 and above, and only 5 cities can be Rank 5. That means that you have already secured your spot in the first category, and have your spot in the 2nd. When you ascended to Rank 5, another city did NOT ascend to rank 4 as there can only be 10 of Rank 4 OR 5.
