There is a city that as been abondon yet still has 10 players to hold it in place. I have talked w the current mayor and he would like to drop politicion. I have put myself in for mayor and wish to save this city. Now if the current mayor drops politicion will the incumbant (me) become the defult mayor or would these 10 citizens need to vote for me?

Also I have sent a mail to these players in the city with no response.

If the current mator and I were present do you think that this is an issue that a CSR could help with?

If the players are inactive it will be hard to vote out the encumbent mayor.

You might have to ask the current mayor for militia and give zoning rights to some friends, move them in, and have them vote for you. You would need 11 votes to win the election.

You need 51% of the vote to win. Are these 10 people active of non-active. If you can get 6 of them to vote for you, you're in.

Yeah, that is correct. Then you would be the encumbent and all votes would automatically go to you.

the current 10 people can not be contacted. Im just going to get 11 people from our current city to move into the lost city and get me elected, then i'll move them back to the main city, and use the 10 inactive to hold the city up. (<--- this will work right?)

and you dont think that a CSR can help to move me into the city?

Well if the curent 10 are truely inactive destroying the old hall an placeing a new one would only remove their votes . When a new city hall is placed around structures the owners must enter an exit their building in thats cities limit befor they become declaired in the new town . So if you are wanting to use the 10 inactives to hold the city up then yes get 11 people to move in for a week an then go back to their original homes . Also remeber that you can be counted as one of the 11 just rember to vote for yourself , i have seen many mayors forget this an end up voteing for the defaulted curent mayor , lol .

What if the encumbant mayor drops the Politician skill and declares residence elsewhere? Will the only person left running for mayor be elected with 1 vote?

Unfortunetly, no. The only way for a new mayor to be elected is to win 51% of the vote. It is one of the things being addressed by the devs for future consideration.

That will work. Just move in 11 people, have them vote you in, then once you are in they can leave.

A CSR will not help in this case since there is a mechanism that works for you to win the election if you get enough votes.

The other option is just get another City Hall deed, have the current mayor destroy the current one, then place the new one yourself. The 10 people that are still around will automatically become citizens, thus holding the city after the 24 hrs is up, and if you manage to convince 11 more to move in, you'll be at 21 citizens and very secure in your new city.

Just another option in case you can't get the current one out of there. You wouldn't be losing anything but the City Hall if you destroyed the city, since at 10 citizens you're pretty much down to the dregs of the old city.
