Hey guys,

Picking up the reigns as mayor for my city, and I'm still at the running stage. I need to change out my house in the city to a different style for my shop. I don't have any other structures down in the city, and no other lots available. Will removing my house remove me from citizenship, and the race? I don't wanna mess it up, It took me a couple of days to get the amount of votes I received.

Thanks for any input you guys can offer! =)

Just thought I'd re-post. After getting some support from the guild, I went ahead and re-deeded my old building and plopped down the new one. I was not removed from the race, or citizenship from the city! Woot =)

Yes it will.

I would wait until the next city update. Once you have won the race your residence will be teh city hall and you can do as you please with the other house

If you redeed your structure that you have decllared resisdence , you will loose citizenship & Im sure will be dropped from the race for mayor. I would wait for the end of election too.

I was surprised, but it didn't drop me from the race, or remove me from citizenship. I wonder why?

So according to this, do you have to be a citizen of the city to run for the election?

I moved my house in the middle of the last election. Luckily I had another house in town and I declared there before pulling the deed on the old house. I lost my militia status but I did not lose citizenship nor did I get removed from the race. I thought I heard a rumor that you have something like 24 hours to get a structure placed or the next server rollover. /shrug

Hope that helps

bad bad rumors /tsk

you know, I don't know exactly how that works, but I'll ask GM another time. I wouldn't suggest messing with citizenship stuff while you're on the ballot, better safe than sorry

But the only problem with waiting now is it takes three weeks to get your name off the ballot. Seems like they have some kinks to possibly work out still.

I am not surprised on this. Looks like the good old residency bug.

I have two cities I am mayor of. The first one is Farpoint, Sidious Inoxi is mayor there. The second is Farpoint Valley and the mayor is Ricarda Inoxi. Before i founded the second city, Ricarda was resident in Farpoint. After I founded Farpoint Valley with Ricarda, she became mayor, so her residency switched (as for game mechanics) to Farpoint Valley naturally. Though, she is still listed on the City Terminal of Farpoint as a resident. I receive citizen mails that sidious sends out on Ricarda (very nice so i can forward to teh second city residents) and vote for Sidious as well.

In your case I guess you have remained on the citizenship list as well, even though you dont have a structure anymore. Then you dropped it again and declared, so there was no sweep because the bug hit your city terminal. Lucky you

I still have some people on my residence list that own no house or structure in the city, but they dont seem to care because none of them undeclared at the city terminal, even though they moved into different cities and are listed there as well (I have checked that)
