Here's the situation:
Guild leaders up and left the game without any notice
Mayor also hasn't logged on in weeks
Some of us left to help another City out by declaring residence but planned on returning. Problem now is there is no one online who can grant zoning rights back to us, so....
One of the residents is running for mayor right now to replace the current mayor and grant back zoning and militia rights to us andbring new people to the city. He only has 4 votes because the rest of us aren't declared in the city or have houses there right now. I hope he can win onthese fewvotes. No one is challenging him so does that mean it's an automatic victory for him?
Problems: One of the guild people who up and left is the owner of the guild hall and several other buildings. We are concerned with a couple of things.
1. This guy was a jerk to everyone and it is good that he left, buthe could log back on to do malicious things to the buildings (such asdestroying them)or contents of them. Plus he has several accounts and made them owners of the buildings so even though we have administrative rights, we cannot ban the owner of the building or change the owner to someone else.
2. We changed the name of the cantina on the sign, but it still shows up on the World Map with the old name. How do we change it on the World Map?
3. Would the best thing be to put up another Guild Hall and other buildings since we cannot change the owner's name? I was told that the person in question is "selling his accounts" and not returning to the game.
This is a medical city and we don't want to lose the rating. Plus the others who left the game have their accounts and houses paid up to March and when that time comes then buildings will start to go. But hopefully by then we will have added more citizens back to the city.

First off, yes, you can win the mayoral election now with as little as1 vote, if that is the only vote given.
As for your concern about the contents of the guild hall and/or other houses...if you're on admin, why not remove the items you're concerned about?
You also might want to consider changing the guild leader, by having all who are left declare allegiance or whatever it's called from the guild terminal. That way no one can disband the guild.
As for changing the name of the cantina on the world map..not sure how that is done.
Good luck to you!

Just a word of note on changing the guild leader of your PA....
I definitely recommend going over to the Player Association forums and running a search on changing a guild leader. The process is more difficult than the old way of changing a mayor because you have to have 51% of the registered guild members set allegiance during the update cycle. And there is no way to know when your update cycle begins and ends. Many good suggestions have been posted over there, though.

re changing guild leader the update cycle is 7 days so jsut get everoyne to set allegence every 6 days and as long as more than half the guild are actually doing this you shoudl have a new leader within abotu 8 days

Yeah changing leader would be good so it couldn't be disbanded same goes for clearing the place out. However if the PA hall is destroyed it's no big whoop. All they are used for is the terminal. So unless you plan on getting new members or going to war they aren't actually required buildings and your leader destroying it is only a cosmetic and morale loss for the guild. Nothing major would have happened and you could replace it quick and relatively painlessly

Thank you for the advice.
It looks like the mayor issue will resolve itself since he's running uncontested. The other issues we will address at our next guild meeting.
