Thread: Problem with Med center and faction
Hey all,
This is just a warning to either a bug or "feature." Our Combat Medic placed our Hospital, but apparently did so while still having a TEF as an imperial. Now, our covert rebel doctors cannot register at the medical center because it says they are factionally opposed toit. Now, I know it works this way with faction bases, but since cities cannot be factionally aligned as of yet, this could pose a problem. Again, I say apparently because I havent had a chance to talk with our Combat Medic to see what happened, though we will most likely have to replace the hospital. I'm assuming the same will occur with cantinas and theaters. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues with faction and structures?
We at Aeryn's Respite on Kauri/Talus are havign that same problem.
It's the same thing as the neutral not being about to trade with someone of a faction. Stupedist thing I've ever seen. But hey at least we don't have to worry about too many pesky level 4 cities right?
Regarding the new player city med centers, covert medics/ docs that heal overt players are immediately ejected from the building due to a TEF. Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks

Can someone confirm this? I've never heard this before and I know some people that will be pretty pleased about it if true.

I just finished decorating mine...Im not about to redeed to find out...
Anyway, the TEF problem is true. I think it was brought up for a votable item on the doctor forums.
Aligned cloning centers do not strip a like-aligned player of overt status when cloning at them. I and my PA have confirmed this several times.
Good and bad. It could definitely be a serious griefing tool. A bunch of overt rebels can just camp an imperial cloning center and repeatedly kill an overt imperialplayer who has cloned there, and the player would have no recourse other than to log out as a corpse and wait for them to go away.
And vice versa on the factions, of course. ![]()

This is not a bug or a "feature". It is a feature. If a faction aligned player (Overt, covert, TEF or no, it doesn't matter) places any structure, it is an aligned structure. You can see this best on cantinas or med centers (Where people not aligned to that faction can't /register) and cloning facilities (Where an aligned cloning facility does not strip overt statusof same faction players) and harvesters (Where the faction symbol is displayed by the name). Going neutral does not change existing buildings. Conversely, resigning to place a neutral structure then rejoining the faction leaves the structure neutral. It has been this way since the beginning.
Well, if that is the case, how does a neutral placing it effect the factioned doctors/entertainers. I mean if a neutral places the hospital, can imperials (overts and coverts) and rebels (overts and coverts) register at the hospital?
