Thread: City Militia and Power
Currently, anyone appointed as city militia has rights to warn, bar, pardon and grantzoningrights.
If you have a city made entirely of people you know e.g. one PA, such rights are not a problem, but, in more cosmopolitan cities, people aren't as well known by the Mayor, but (s)he wants to appoint militia - the trouble being they don't want to give out too much power.
What if:
City Militia could be assigned ranks with different rights assigned to each rank. This way the Mayor could assign a larger militia without worrying about potential abuse.
there have been made many request on this
but alas.. not sure what the Devs are going to do about it.
I personally think that there should be two groups. City council (planners) and Militia. (many post about this also)
The militia have power to ban, warn and pardon players (but not citizen - this is a hopeful change) while council have the ability to place buildings.
I, personally, only allow two kinds of people into my militia:
1. High-level combat professions
2. Recruiters
That may not always be the case, but I'm fortunate enough to have several combatants (BHs, Commandos, TK's, etc.) in the city. If I know them, and have hunted or PvP'd along with them and know they can follow orders, they're in.
Likewise, if a player has shown themselves capable of recruiting good, permanent citizens (not number-fillings), then I allow them in as well.
I'd love to see the ability to split zoning rights from militia into something else, though.
