Hi, believe it or not, I just started looking into Politician today. I did not even realize that it took 0 skill points to learn, heh.

Anyway, I have been reading the various FAQ threads and found a lot of interesting stuff. However, I can't seem to find anything about the number of skill trainers that can be placed in a city.

First of all I assume, as long as the politician has the Civic Policy II skill, that even an outpost with 10 citizens can have skill trainers...is that true?

Also:
- how many skill trainers can be placed?
- can only elite profession trainers be placed?

Well, that is what I am most interested in right now. I am sure I will be back with more questions as I explore the world of SWG politics.

thanks.

P.S.
i just thought of another question! can the mayor of a city place the houses for citezens and then transfer the structure in order to ensure city layout?

you can place any type of (non-JTL)trainer, but I think the number of trainers you can have in the city are related to the rank of your city. let me go check and repost if that's not the case

for the p.s.: yes you can, just remember to put that person on admin before transferring it or you might hit a funny bug.

cool, thanks pappi!

so is there a place i can see how many trainers per city rank are allowed?

there are 7 novice skill trainers and 26 elite skill trainers (not including JTL trainers). Is it possible to have all 33 trainers in a city? Thanks for the transfer house info, that is nice to know.

No, there's a cap, a limit.

=Why= would you want to do that? Line them all up next to your shuttle? Know how -dumb- that looks?

Scatter them around town in logical places to add to the atmosphere? Dancer and Musician at your cantina, artisan in your market area, rifleman and commando at your militia building... that'd be nice.

Having a citizen ask where the "whatever" trainer is and you say "We don't have one, but I'll place one just for you right this very moment! How long do you need it?"

=That=... is how you stay mayor.

Trying to be helpful. There's the "plop 'em down and be done with it" method, the "decorate the town" method, and the "score some points with the voters" method. You can of course use a combination of all three.

Lol I do the same thing. To me being mayor is not about "Well I am mayor and I will do things my way". If a citizen needs a trainer I will pace one for them. IMO you adjust with the city needs..IMO its about the citizens befor anything else.

New owner can't add anyone to the admin list.

Yes, this does sound like the best system.

So do you all usually keep a handfull of certain trainers up at all times? Then just add or rotate them as needed? Or do you only place them if people are asking for them?

Trainers are cheap (1.5K) so they make good decor.

I object to the towns (and there are many, so a lot of people obviously disagree with me) that have trainers lined up in a row... at the shuttle... at city hall... around a garden... They don't look like live characters that way, they look like store dummies!

I saw one city that had the trainers on the porch of a Naboo large house that was named University. THAT made sense!

I have an artisan trainer in the market area (lots of merchant tents, we're a frontier town. A Metropolis... but a frontier metropolis.

And my people know that if they have training needs for a few weeks they can come to me and I'll "invite a trainer to town".

This does a few things:

I'm not always paying for trainers that nobody uses.

I get to look helpful.

I get to find out what my folks are up to, what they are learning, what they are dropping...

There are 33 possible trainers. A master politician in a Metropolis has a quota of 15.

Wednesday July 13th my city celebrates the second anniversary of it's Founding. The day we placed the first house. Before shuttles, player cities, vehicles, mounts... when we had to run 15 minutes from Keren through hostile territory...

For that day I have placed trainers around as decoration. A CH at the Zoo, Doctor at the med center...

Please come to Kettemoor and have a look. Contact Sighryn.
