Hi,
I was wondering how useful you experienced politicians think these type of structures are. I definitely understand the appeal of having them in a city simply to make the city feel complete, but are there other benefits that I am missing?
The small amount of healing bonus or whatever that is offered from hospitals does not really seem to be any sort of incintive.
I am not saying I don't want these structures, I am just planning for lean financial times and want to make good choices about what structures to cut if needed. Obviously all gardens can go, but if there is not any real benefits to the hospitals and cantinas, it may be that citizens would rather keep the nice gardens and stuff over a building that does not get used much.
Thanks a lot for your thoughts and opinions on this matter! All you long term politicians are a great asset to us newbies trying to make good decisions!

Those are all privately-owned structures, so they don't affect the city maintenance at all. You can have as many as your player's can place in your city without any additional cost to the weekly maintenance.

oops! that's right Khristen, now that you say that i remember reading that. thanks for the reminder!
so it does not cost the city anything, but are there any benefits other than it just being nice to have all the standard facilities in your city?
now i am thinking along the lines of space and burden on the owners of these buildings. of course if some Doctor / Combat Medic / Dancer / Musician really wants a hospital or cantina and can afford it, then great. but as far as the city benefitting from it, is it worth it to go out of your way to place these?
again, just want to know the details so we can make wise decisions as a community.
thanks!

Hospitals have some very slow passive healing. Other than that anything that can be accomplished in a hospital or cantina can be in a regular house.
And theatres... just aren't worth anything at the moment.

The profile variation is nice and people don't automatically assume that it's a private house which is nice for establishing zones in a city.

The outdoorledges can be used nicely for event seating but my new town is never going to reach rank 4 to use 'em.
