Thread: City Issue Civilian Eviction (Idea)

My idea is the mayor has an option to evict a player house, usually because of
a.banning
b.afkness over long periods of time
c.guild connected.

The issue is when players are gone, and there house has enough maintenance, it makes a city hard to organize to look good.

In a summary, what this option would do is:
Deed your house within 15 days and claim your items(Self)
Deed your house and place the items in your bank or inventory.(Mayor Placed)

Thank you and please leave positive feedback for this issue.

problem is it could be used to grief players like city warn did, better soloution is be able to give mayors a city ban and then city remove function city ban for non-citizens and stops them entering houses, civic structures in city and city remove re-deeds a house that belongs to a citizen with all its items inside to prevent griefing, note this could only be used if the player didnt log in for 14 days( 2 weeks)

Oh, i used to have the problem with my first city on talus.. we were in rank 3, then everyone decided to * Dare i say it * quit galaxies. So i was left with 30 odd houses with no one in them, and can't enter cause they didn't give me admin/entry rights. I think something should be done to help us mayors..

I would think linking something of this nature to the city update cycle would be good. It should go in phases. First phase, you reject their citizinship. After one city cycle, the player may then be placed on eviction notice. After that cycle, the house is rolled up into their bank account with all itmes intact. The player should get notice at each step, the rejection of citizinship, the eviction warning, and the actual eviction. This would give the player between 4-6 weeks to get their affairs in order and take the house down on their own terms.

Just one thing though, in order for this to work a mayor would needa way to identify who a building belongs to. Currently there is no mechanism for this. Another point to consider is how would this function if the player in question has more than one structure in the city.

I can see Mayor's using an 'evict' feature as a 'cling to power' mechanism..that is if someone run against them..POOF you are now evicted

Would be a terrible tool in the hands of a poor tempered Mayor.

The only way I would support such a mechanism if it would only be useable if the house or structure has already become condemed, anything else granted as far as 'evictions' would just enable Mayors to be tin-pot dictators.
