I am just wondering how long it takes now to become a mayor of an existing city as i have recently registered and the city has already updated.

The voting cycle is essentially independent of the city update cycle, although when it completes it will do so at the same time of the city update. The voting cycle is a three-week period and you can only register to run in the first two weeks. At the end of the third full week, the person on the ballot with the most votes wins.

Oh right, well i have just currently registered, so i guess it's another long wait till i get mayor lol..
