I recently took over the city from our perma-afk mayor and decided to take the city off the free zoning rights. However, after I set up the militia, some are complaining that they cannot /grantzone or even place structures themselves. I now remember the old mayor complaing about bugs with the militia. Does anyone know the status of this?

only the mayor can lay structures without permission from anyone else. once militia is set up either the mayor or a militia member has to grant rights to people to place houses, tents, etc. militia members have never been able to just lay structures, as far as i know, without getting another militia member or the mayor to grant them zoning rights. It is nice being the mayor though; you can lay the structures you want without having to talk to anyone or get permission from anyone

And to add, you have to be outside of any structure to grant zoning rights.

i need permission from militia to set a house as mayor

Guess it s also supposed to be that no CSR has any knowledge about cities at all

Sad but but True. Although i have had only positive experiences whenever i've contacted a CSR, their lack of information about Politician is indicative of the attention that player cities and the politician profession gets from the DEV's and content managers.

um, that's not correct... the mayor can place player structures in the city.

maybe but i m mayor since the beginning of my city, day one of the second generation

and when ever i want to place a building it tell s me i need zoning rights

i can t place any player building without the milita!

then you are bugged, something isn't right, maybe contact a CSR and find out what the problem is.

ive been the mayor of two cities on my server and ive always been able to lay houses, decoration, harvesters, etc within city limits without militia permition. you gotta be bugged.
