This thread is to the purpose of finding out what a city mayor can do to see about live events in there town
I am mayor of Citadel, Lok (Kauri)
We have 12 rebel bases in our backyard, a complex formed by the Rebel Strike Force
Last week a system message was sent out saying a imperial strike was headed toward my city
Next thing I know drop ships are landing and AT ST's and dark stormies are stormin the complex
There were over 60 player imperials and close to 50 rebels
We fought for what seemed hours and held the fight in our favor
Random people were awarded badges, although I did not get one *stinks
Is there a process through which mayors can talk to a CSR, dev, or someone with the power to organize a live event
Are live events random ? or can they be planned if enough people are willing
Everyone at the city loved the pvp, and we would like other chances for people to get the accolade badges that they were missed on.
IF there is not process for someone to arrange a live event i think there should be and you should /sign to show ur support.
Even if the live event process took months, it should be possible for something like this to happen.

Pex can set you up for sure. I'm having a Tusken Raid in our city this Sat to go along with an RP storyline we're developing. Stop by Sat (10/23) at 2PM EST on Chilastra. Send Tetran a tell and I'll tip you some credits if you need to fly to Tusken's Bane on Tatooine. It'll be a good chance to see how a city can be decorated and player interaction. It should be a big event as I'm expecting many people.

I think this is a source of huge content that can be explored that so far I didnt know possible.

Just thought I'd post a couple pics of the latest event. We had such an unbelievable turn out that we had to shut the event down earlier than anticipated as the number of people there started to cause some server lag issues. We probably had over 150 people there. And of course the obligitory cantina party afterwards

sssooooooo am I hearing this correctly?
If I wanted a LIVE EVENT to take place at my city on Shadowfire, all I need to do is submit my request to an SOE person and it will be considered?
If true, this is something I have never heard of. What rock have I been hiding under? I have been a swg addict since Aug 03. This is great news if true. The citizens of my server would greatly appreciate this kind of interaction.

Yep, this is true.
Send Pex a private message through these boards with a brief description of what you're planning. Don't forget important details like what date and which server. Keep in mind that it'll probably be fairly limited as to what they'll do for you, but likely they'll at least place some decorations around town and be able to spawn some mobs to fight.

We had the crawlers placed by Pex. He's done some neat things around the city for our events. We had the normal sandcrawler, and when the tusken's came, the crawler was changed to a burning one. When we have events in town, I try and decorate the area for the time. Pex is a valuable tool for the game.
