GOAL:
– Politcians Need to Get Paid

REASONS:
– We spend many hours a week organizing city layouts and budgets. We deal with attitudes and conflicts between players. We motivate players to remain in-game and maximize comfort by providing homes and places to relax & de-stress. We provide places for content. We rarely have time to run our own missions. Or are at the back of the pack in adventuring skill levels, simply cuase of lack of time.

- We are the first line of CSR's. Without a good Mayor and successful player cities, many more players would have left the game sooner.

- Most politicans are throw away characters or alts...some of us are not. Those of us who arent need to be compensated for our time in game.

SOLUTION:
- We need to get paid with in-game credits. It can be tied it to how large our city is. It can even come out of the treasury.

YOUR JOB DEV's:
- Figure it out and make it work.

You can pull a small portion out of the treasury each week, but it's limited to 50k (am I right on this figure?). I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong on the timeframe or the figure. Limited to prevent an unscrupulous mayor from removing the city's entire treasury and making a run for it.

Quite simply, though, many mayors feel uncomfortable doing that. It's money paid into the city for city upkeep. While city employees in RL are paid from citizen taxes/city revenue, it's not as comfortable of a thing to do in-game. If it was deducted automatically, it would certainly be an easier thing. Perhaps an option when registering for mayor as to what your salary would be? You could limit griefing potential if it's involved in the registration process as it's now set up (the three-week thing).

hon, if you want to get paid, the people you need to talk to are your citizens, not the devs. if your citizens agree to it, just withdraw the money from your treasury.

we've had a discussion on this earlier, and a lot of people are against it. therefore I don't have it down as a request.

But, um, you're a politician. This new patch is going to require some politiking in game, unless you're a guild controlled city. And that adds some excitement!

Yes, im a politician, hence why im trying to get paid without having to have any questions about it.

RL politcians dont have to ask to get paid, its part of the job. They dont need to make reasons for why they are pullin money from the treasury.

There has been a first day when the first democratic politician has asked the question: "Could I be paid for my work please?". Then the representatives of the People have made a law, describing how much the politician would be paid, where the money would come from (the State's treasury) and such.

Politicians now do not need anymore to ask to get paid, because it has been decided by the People some time ago.

In game this is the same. Why not organizing a survey, asking your citizens:

"Do you agree that the Mayor should get paid from City Treasury?"
"If you agree, how much do you thing the Mayor should get paid (max. 50k credits/day)?"

Let them know that the results of the survey will be changed into a law. Once this is done, you have the agreement of the population, you do not have to ask again, you just take your salary everyday from the treasury. This is how it works in RL.

I have been a Mayor for 5 months - I am not a master Politician yet (tho very close :smileyvery-happy We have a city on Talus on Chilastra server.

All my citizens are really good friends of mine and each other - I consider it a joy to do the job i do, I sacrifice a hell of alot for the city and the people in it because I want to not because I have to.

In my opinion if you 'want' to get paid that is what the treasury is there for. I personally devote my time and money to the city and dont want to get paid - thats not the reason why I am a politician.

Don't be silly, if you are a good mayor, people will have no problem with letting you have money. We take care of our mayor as much a possible...last week I gave him a million credits.
