I Have an idea for Politicians, so they areuseful in other ways then just managing a city.


I propose that Politicians be able to Craft Missions, much like an artisan crafts his tools or such.

He would be able to lay down a terminal where he could basically sell the rights to take on these missions, or hand them out personally. He/She could experiment on them as to how well they pay, how hard they would be, the harder- the more exp for players. Also have the ability to experiment on how many people you can have in your group to go do these missions (or also the option to have difficulty factor multiply bya crafted amountper member in group) And give the Politician the ability to craft how many phases the mission would have. Each phase would have to be crafted out like (optional) components to be added into the mission. Each Phase of the mission would pay the player attempting the mission upon completion of the phase, so the farthur you got in your mission the more and more money the mission would pay out. If there were6 base Missions you'd build where the components would be added into them, Rebel, Imperial, Nuetral, Bounty Hunter, Entertainment,and Artisan missions (artisan and Entertainermissions could have optional components added to be based for Musician, Architect, Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Etc.)


Example: You start your mission going to a waypoint where you are to find a person, you find them and then they are attacked, you have to defend them in phase one. You defended him so you get paid 10k for fighting off 8 tuskens. Then phase two your to take them to a cantina where they need to contact someone else. There he pays you another 6k. Etc Etc.


I think this kind of thing would help people get a feel of content AND it would be continuous content. IF the Politician were allowed to write what the characters would say you could in theory never have to do the same mission twice. (Note you couldnt interact with them for I assume that part would be too much coding to have a radial menu and such, but it could be much like the themeparks where you just run up to the guy and they say their line and you end up killin him or bringin him back to Leia.)

I think this can be a great feature...can make worth to remain in players city and to be more than politician 0001....not only do alwaysthe same mission in the same terminal on the same outpost.

thanks guys! now how do we get the devs to look here and take this idea? Im being serious here hehe not just mocking or sarcastically speaking here hehe. Lets try to get the devs to notice this and role with it if we can at all.

Audience: When can the Politicans expect some changes/improvements.


Devs: There are so few Politicans, that it won't change for the foreseeable future.

Well, I think you are on the right track by saying that politicians need more fun things to do. Especially in the areas of providing content and value for their city. I think the mission idea would be impossible to program, from a DEV point of view. Just too many ways for it to go wrong. But, overall, you're looking for ways for mayors to have more to do and contribute to the game and to improvetheir own city, and I think that's a fine goal.


Fact is, if mayors could provide a lot of fun things to do for their cities, then we would no longer have stagnant cities with inactive mayors because all the citizens would leave to find a good city!

Hey guys if you like the idea, I revised the idea and gave it as a full blown proposal on the Core Systems, here is a link if you could help me promote it!


I like the idea being on the core systems cause I personally think it would affect all classes if done right.
