Thanks to the dev team once again! When, when, when, when, when will you learn how to do a change without making scores of people angry!

Why? My town updated at 7am est this morning....I have a new town and am a new mayor...it went from level I to level II and what ? what happened...I didn't get my xp...nope the 2500 xp i was going to get was thrown out with the patch..I got 750xp instead and was booted off the mayoral ballot. So now I have to wait three weeks to get the xp I needed this morning...wonderful how I could conceivably have a level IV city and have not mastered more than2 boxes in political experience.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? Everytime something gets 'fixed' we nerf a bunch of stuff with it? The non-voting citizens when running a mayoral race was a problem yes indeed...and voting every week was a pain if u actually voted....but where on earth or the wide galaxy do u have to vote for someone when there is no race. If no one is running why do you have to vote? Why WHY WHY? The xp is so freakin low to begin with why are they that worried about a few absentee citizens giving xp to mayors?

For crying out loud? Look at the numbers people....Politician is now the 2nd hardest profession to master ....first being grinding out 6 fs boxes to hit jedi initiate...I'm dead serious....do the math even with the 3x's xp...its really the same xp cause its over 3 weeks...and if u dont get all the votes in..and 750xp weekly is a joke. I could master several of the most difficult professions before I ever come close to mastering this...and you actuallyonly get xp for votes...so you are unable to advance....by doing anything at all!

This is a incredible joke...absolutely incredible...the good parts to thisare totally crushed under the stupidity of the rest of it.

How about next change you do every mayor a favor and at least update their xp before screwing them so hard...at least I could place a bank...but no....

In the days of people running out of this game for other games some of us are trying hard to preserve the community and build it...I was doing this via a player city on Naritus with incentives for citizens that were very good....now...now I might master politician in 6months...and will have to wait a few months before i get anything useful....sad sad sad sad....

Give your heads a shake dev team...a hard hard hard shake....

Dy....

Actually a majority of politicians want(ed) to have incumbet votes removed from the mayor and have a free election without ghost citizens etc. tied to the ballot.

Read my post...I said you needed to free up the ability of others to run and win..yes that needed to be fixed...but why nerf this profession so badly xp wise? Why make people vote if there is no race?

How about 2 week open period for people to proclaim intentions to run....if no one else runs other than the incumbent he's declared the winner and gets the xp for the number of citizens. How is that bad? Considering you can't get xp any other way?

In all honesty I don't know how that would be a problem but there could be some errors in an attempt to code it that way. However the way it is now works just fine excepting the requirement to re-register as incumbent (which also probably has something to do with the code) and vacation conflicts.

The experience of the mayor is actually tied to the citizenry. While it may be upsetting to you that you can't do this, that, or another thing sooner and trust me I can sympathize since I enjoy getting the most out of my town and making it look and function well. But you not have enough experiencefora skill, well yourcitizens can only blame themselves for that lack of a bank, or cloner, or shuttle, or specialization. You will get them eventually and if you express how important it is to you and the town you should get it, actually you'll get it sooner then anytime before if you can get a 100% turnout.

They shouldn't have changed it this way for the following reasons:

1) XP gained per week (old system) was greater than the XP gained now (new system)

2) The profession itself doesn't affect the game... it doesn't make money, items, etc

They complaints of current mayors could have easily been addressed in another way. Everything stays as is UNLESS someone registers to run against the current mayor. In this case... there are no longer encumberant votes. An actual election has to be held. For those who don't know how to code this... it's simple:

IF [Mayor Race] = 1

THEN = "No Election Race"

ELSE = "Election Race"

Each subset of of "Mayor Race" has set rules to them which dictate XP payouts and nulls the encumberant vote.

Hmm.... Simple, eh?

Well, the problem to resign and get a new mayor in office were the ghost votes from inactive players. Now they didn't count and now its easy to resign...

What would be another possibility? A resign button?

System: "Do you really want to resign?"
Mayor: "Yes."
System: "Okay, on the next update this city will be blown to dust by one of our star destroyer."
Mayor "Oops..."
