Ok I have been one starred by some Master Mayors in another thread so let me show you why I am a touch upset...
FIrst off I am a 1 0 0 0 Politicain. I went politician to build a city with the aim of helping long term players and newer players stay in the game, instead of jumping ship like so many others....I did this by offering some incentives (very good ones actually) and other help..but that's another story.
My city was to level at 7am est on Tuesday morning. It did, however the 2500xp I was to get that day didn't happen, instead I got the 750xp and now have to wait 3 weeks until the new xp comes in. Although..woot I will get another 1500 xp on the weekly updates..thanks...how does this negatively affect the city and my progression....
I had leveled 1 box...I also had 700xp left over. Now I have 1450xp....enough to level a 2nd 1rst tier box...but....since the xp now only comes in once every 3 weeks consider this...
I have 1450 xp...i level a tier I box and have 450xp left over
Lets say that by the time the voting is done i have 50 citizens in 3 weeks....in my case that's a low number I will have more but for the sake of argument lets use 50.
So thats 450 xp plus another 750xp a week from now and another tier I box...that would make me 1 1 1 0...although my plan was to go 2 0 0 0 first but alas can't do it...I could wait but.......
when the next 750xp comes in so does the vote count so that's (and lets say they all vote since its a new town and for the sake of the math) thats another 50 votes x 100xp x 3 = 15000 xp woot I'm so happy i could cry right?
Wrong seeing as I can only level a box I tier...1000 xp that would make the next box 2500 xp and I would hit the xp progression cap without a chance to level...so my 15000 xp will now be carved down to what? 5000xp? or 7500xp? either way its only 33% or 50% of what I should have gotten...effective screwing me for YET another 3 weeks. So hey that's only 6 weeks why should I worry....? Because it is NOT right!
If i saved all the xp i had 700 xp plust the 1500xp i will get before the votes come in that still leaves me short 300xp to level a tier II box making the xp loss even greater when the votes are counted....hitting the xp cap and all! I promise you the devs haven't even considered this! It truly truly makes it very hard for new mayors...incredibly so and slow.
If I wasn't screwed out of my 2500xp Tuesday morning I could have leveled dropped my bank and hey wouldn't have gotten incredibly screwed when the 3 weeks was up...but they rarely take that sort of thing into consideration....we are to be wowed by the other changes and forget the xp nerf.
It stinks plain and simple...and all you mastered mayors can come in here and 1 star this post...but its the truth...some of the stuff they did was good and proper...but the changes to the xp is fundamentally wrong, and certainly very very unfair..given I am going to loose a ton of xp due to caps that in this case are extremely silly indeed....
Sincerely Dy (They couldn't have rolled this out today...*sighs*)

the new voting period is a little rediculous, cus you can only fit so much in a level 1 city, then you have to wait for 3 weeks for the borders to open up and expand more, so totally itll take forever, but hey itll keep me in game longer just to seemy city survive

The city updates weekly but thats the point...you can easily be a level iv city and have only leveled one or two boxes...but the xp caps are going to screw new mayors big time...unless you are very very slow growing...
