Thread: Removal of disabled buildings before a character purge ?

Is there any way on earth this could happen ?

We have a Generic PA hall in our city which is owned by a player who has quit.
Unfortunately, the player quit without informing anyone so we could not transfer the building to an active player. We kept the upkeep going untill we were sure all the vendors had been removed, and then removed the remaining maintenance so the building would decay and die.

unfortunately, they change building decay halfway through, so now we have a building that will become disabled and stay that way untill the character purge in X months time.

so - huge building in a prime location which we can't use as it may disappear at any point.

Will I be able to get a CSR to remove the building ? Is it even worth trying ?

Has anyone tried this before, and is there a precedent ?

I would have hoped that this type of scenario was considered before the change came in - I know I posted on the thread discussing it, but never got an answer .... :-(

many thanks for any comments or advice on this.

Nothing you can do. This game's CS sucks.

Typical response will be "We're very sorry about the issue you are having, however there is nothing we can do without the building owners permission"

I know first hand. We were told we'd have to wait for a character purge. So basically 6 months + however long it takes the inactive purging system to be put in place.

RIP: Player Cities

My advice is to file a complaint at www.bbb.org, not until then will they take your issue serious. And you can't blame the CSRs. They are following protocol and only doing what they are told... But the shots called fromt he top could be more considerate to paying customers and not people who quit the game.

the new system for houses is the worst thing that could happen to player cities

we ve 2 houses with 17% in ours, no change to contact the owners, no change to get rid of them

just the so holy comming character purge

and i dont think the will remove those buildings, cause at least one of teh owner changed server, so his

account is still active

and anyway it s stupid that we have to wait at least 6 months till houses vanish
