If someone wanted to move into my town to take over AND told me that was their plan, I'm sure I wouldn't let them build anyways.
It's the ones that move in and don't tell you that we're worried about.
my city costs me 500k per week...noone else wants to pay it. If someone takes it over, they'll have the burden of having to pay that, so Im pretty comfortable it wont happen anytime soon for me

Zyllib you're assuming that they actually CARE about the city
I think the point is that you should plan on campaigning every 3 weeks, I don't imagine this will be too rough on most mayors.
good point, I forget that ppl dont play the same game I do.

That's our point.....you play in the game where your city exists...they play in the game where the content is taking over a city and destroying the City Hall. Two very different twists to the same game.
There is a reason our Corro has a sticky telling everyone to register for the electionand get voters in each time right now. It's not because we all have unlocked cities and are letting those that say they want to have the city take up residence.

Those that give /grant to players they dont have 100% trust in are asking for trouble.
Are there citizens in my city I would /grant and not question them? Yes.
Are there citizens in my city I would never give it to? Yes.
If I have to give /grant to someone I don't trust 100%, I am:
A) not giving it till we are on location where the building will go
B) agreed that the spot is suitable
C) targeting them and /grant
D) /grant again the moment the house apears.
repeat if the house has to be rotated
These problems we are dealing with go far above and beyond the simple matter of turning zoning off. Its short sighted to think turning that off is the way to solve this problem. That is simply the tip of the security iceberg we have to maintain to protect our city, our citizens and ourselves.
This I'll never understand. If, perchance, you read and could pass on, Pappi:
1. Split zoning and militia into two separate roles. TEF is being removed. Whatever takes its place, defending citizens should not make the mayor rely on 40 people's daily attitudes. The majority of grieving against other citizens in placement in our town are the result of militia members getting ticked at other people. Militia should DEFEND a town, not plan it.
2. Members with zoning should not be able to grant 24 hour zoning, only the mayor. All zoning members should get to place ANY structure for 5 minutes and then transfer to the appropriate character. Redeeding during a zoning event should be free for the zoning member. If someone doesn't have the cert for the structure transfer it reverts to deed in the 5 minute period.
3. Mayors should get acondemnation ability which both allows them to see that houses are in a condemed state and authorizes aCSR to move the structure outside city boundaries and emails the account.
