That's what I was planning.
I won the election a week ago, and the small house still says it's my residence. I may just wait until the next election and then try it to be safe.

I've been mayor since December. My medium house still tells me it is my residence.
It lies.
The mayors residence is city hall.

I have moved residence while running for mayor. It did not remove me from the race.
And, as those above me have said, the mayor's residence is the city hall, no matter what any other building says. You'll be fine.

I am currently the mayor of a city, and have my residence established in a small house. I'm 2 weeks from re-election with a fairly high voter turnout, and I wanted to move my residence to a large house in city so I can redeed the smaller.
If I change residence, will I lose my election registration, or will it persist since both houses are in town? I don't want to risk it if no one has done it before, because I onlt have a few politician boxes and need all the votes I have now. I can't guarantee the people will b back in time to vote again.
Has anyone had experience with this?
Thanks,
Vincint

A mayor's residence is the City Hall. You should be able to move around the other houses all you like and not worry about losing your spot in the election. Now the non-mayors running against you...if they were to pull up their residence...that would cause them to get kicked out.
If something different happens, you would be able to get a CSR to fix it.
You could also wait a week and move after the election and not have to worry about the devs coding it correctly.

Your medium house is your home, the city hall is your tax address.

I don't have any house on my mayor's account actually, after I got mayor I transfered all my houses to another char so that my mayor toon has 10 open lots for city planing and placing. Works fine.

if you are in doubt, just go try to claim residence in a house, and as mayor, it tells you your residence is the city Hall ... I tried it before.

In the event that you lose the next election, will your residency revert back to your house then?
Or will you have to remember to declare residency there again?

Ultimately, I went ahead and declared in the new house. It tells me my residence is city hall, but still sets residence at the new house (assumed for when I am not mayor). I wasn't removed from the election.
I inherited the city when the mayor's account ran out and he couldn't run again. I was novice politician and couldn't afford to lose the votes already set since I wasn't sure all the people would be able to vote again in time.
Thanks for the info.
