Share a few ways that you have developed the poputation of your cities?

Did passers by just fall in love with your city plan and beg to join you?

Was it all prearranged?

We started ours with our guild at the core, but our guild is only like 30 people and we would like to keep growing.

I have approached non-guilded folks and /telled them about our city. A few have expressed interest.

What works for you?

Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've
seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me
believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's
no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.

Usually advertisements work best. Our guild is approaching city rank 4 in the next update, and other than the guild members most of the other people were simply drawn in by advertisements.

The initial growth stages are a great chance for people who are new to the game to get moved in to the city, so offering a free house in exchange for moving in to the city is an easy way to get people in to your city. You just have to be careful and be prepared for the chance you might get ripped off if they decide to pull up the free house and leave the next day.

Once you have enough people in the city for awhile then you can stop offering free houses to random people and start being picky about who lives in your city because by then you wont really need new people anymore.
