Thread: Removing Mines?

Can I remove mines as Mayor? There are alot of them set up on the old borders of our city which I would like to remove. Once these are removed will it open up more housing space?
Unfortunately we can't remove mines... best thing to do is make sure your zoning restrictions are turned on to prevent other mines/structures from being placed without your permission... After a week or two you should see all the mines disappear (unless they happen to be static mines, in which case they will be there for frickin' forever
)...
Welcome to political life Chiana, I'm sure you will do a wonderful job...
I've been mayor since day 1 of the player city patch and it's been a sometimes wild and harrowing ride... it's been a lot of fun for me but the bad parts of it have outweighed the good parts and I'm ready to throw in the towel... too bad game mechanics won't let me resign... looks like I'm stuck with it forever and forever... lol
I know for a fact that mines can be removed. But only by either Engineer or Architect. Haven't done this myself, so no idea how. Thus, Mayors cannot remove mines or minefields. But one can definitely clear them with his butt![]()

Sorry, I think I wasn't clear. I tend to mummble sometimes. Nobody can remove a minefield. You can only disarm minefields (by walking on mines, or using either engineer or architect, not sure which). Minefields are like houses - they can only be removed by those who placed them. But unlike houses, minefields do not require maintenance. Thus, they can never poof ... Therein lies the bug and possible exploits
