Ok, it's not as bad as it sounds, but we do have a little problem...

Our current mayor has quit the game due to boredom, and I'm stepping up to take over. For two weeks now I've been on the ballot and we send out almost daily e-mails to get our citizens to vote. With 100+ citizens it's difficult to get them all out in any one week. Many don't play much anymore and some just don't bother.

All that said, the best I've been able to get before the voting cycles again is around 40 to 79 votes! Keep in mind the current mayor no longer plays and his account may close soon. One of our other founders is now ising his account to get mayor stuff done. No matter how hard we try, the incumbant mayor still wins before we can get enough votes together.

Is it possible for a standing mayor to resign?

There is no way for the current mayor to resign. If you are not maxed at th 120 citizens level, I would try getting new people in and having them vote for you. Emailing is good. Make sure you stress that the city will be destoyed if you are not voted in. Most people who play are unaware how player cities really work.

I am sorry I do not have a quicker solution for you. I wish you luck on your campaign and hope it goes well for you!!!
