Is the defense bonus for militia members working ?
if so what defenses does it add too ?

well, as far as the devs say all in game specializations are working. from the advanced guild to player cities (availabie thru my sticky up top), it's defined as "Militia members in a 'Stronghold' get a 50 point bonus to all defense rolls against other players."

including KD, dizy, etc
or is it just ranged and melee ?

well, that's not my quote, but I would assume ranged and melee. it doesn't seem reasonable to add +50 to stuff like defense vs. dizzy, but it might be possible. I haven't tried the specialization before, so you'll need to ask someone else.

how do i check something like this ? to see if it works on either one ?
Cause there are 12 bases in my city
12 Hq's in a complex formation
I want to know if the 150k is worth havin this specialization on.

this is +50 points to the defense ROLLS, not stat mods. all combat is done with "rolls" as in your damage is decided by a roll of the dice, then modified by your skill mods. so a militia member in a stronghold will get plus 50 to all "rolls" in combat. this will also include defense rolls as well.

sorry this only includes defense rolls, your damage done in combat will not go up, however damage done to you will go down significantly

My big question is does it work ATM and does it go over the 125 cap like squad leader does?

in my experince having a few faction bases on site and working with other mayors, this specialization is not worth it. If your base is under attack 75% of the people there will not be a member of your milite and will not reciive the bounus. This specialization is a relic from the /citywarn days when your milita members could acctually police your city.
If you have a shuttleport yoru better off having an improved jop market for the increase in "tourism"

Our town isn't much of a tourism place since we have strickorders to ban all blues hehe. The +50 bonus would be worth it if it put 50 more def over the cap.

Our city is rank 5
We have 8+ bases in our backyard
And our Militia is always on the Prowl
So this is very important to me
I havent had much chance to check the reduction the specialization does, but I cant really tell so far.
Im still upset how people who placed cities over POI's have ruined citywarn, that needs to be back in the game. I cant have coverts trying to hit and run my bases/turrets
