Okay, Bounty Hunters (BH) and Politicians (P) all seem to be screaming for some good change. So the next logical step for BHs would be player bounties. However, such a system cannot be released on the players in masses as it would be utter chaos. So traveling down the path of logic further, it should be Master Politicians that are mayors of a city should be able to put forth bounties on regular players. The devs should begin work on such a system. Then the system can be gradually progressed upon until all players will be able to place bounties.

Second, idea is that a politician shoudl be able to sort of mold the city around, this system should be called the Attraction System. It will be some sort of system, i.e. a non-hiring system, by which certain NPCs will be attracted to the city by actions taken by the mayor of that city, such as they should be able to open negotiations with Jabba the Hutt, the Empire, the Rebellion, Valarians, the Bounty Hunter Guilds, and other factions within the game. Thus attracting those NPCs to the city. Furthermore, the negotiations with certain factions will in turn attract other type NPCs such as Commandos, Spice Fiends, and ect.

Just food for thought.

Fundamentally I like where you are coming from. However, this does base itself on the assumption that all politicians are decent people irl who wouldn't use the facility to grief people they do not like. Unfortunately we know that isn't the case judging from past threads on this very board.

Well, the truth of the matter is that anyone who puts out a bounty isn't going to be a decent person. That is why there should be a timer or something.

I, for one, dislike this idea a lot!!!!

Forced PvP is just wrong, no matter how you look at it.You want bounties, pay someone to PK the other char, and do it through existing game mechanics that allows people to avoid PvP like the plague if they hate it as much as I do.

This is an ill concieved design, and has WAY to much possibility for greifing. Not to mention removing choice from PvP, which is just wrong. How would you like it if someone came through town and decided your merchant's prices were all to high, so they put a bounty on ALL of your Merchants, Artisans, etc? Oh yeah, I can see it now, the Master Artisan/Master ArmourSmith/Master Merchant is really going to have a competative chance at defending against a Master BH!!

See what I mean? Worst. Idea. Ever.

Sigh, Carebears.......personally the best method of doing a player bounty system is to post a bounty and said bounty doesnt make anyone overt or tef'ed, the BH just has to wait until the opportunity arises to kill the player......using the same system we have now. The problem then becomes, BH's splitting the bounty with the player to get them to duel/declare whatever, which would defeat a bounty system entirely.

A player that puts in a player bounty on a terminal should be exposed to the possibility of being indentified and hunted themselves. Say I place a bounty on Player X. Player X finds out about it via word of mouth or seeing the terminals themselves. Player X could then get in contact with a Smuggler that could try and hack a bounty terminal, with whatever chances for success or failure. The smuggler could find out who placed the bounty making that person attackable by the very person they wanted killed. Add an element of risk to placing bounties without regard on people.

And to limit exposure from everyone, anyone that wishes to use the terminal, must register with it. Once you're registered, you can place bounties or have one placed on you too. So it's all voluntary at that point. No reason to cry foul if you get popped.

i see too many methods of griefing through a player bounty system.

haven't seen many comment on the second part of your post though.

i really do like the idea that if the mayor has very good imperial faction, then maybe an imperial recruiter might show up in town. or if you're Jabba's #1 smuggler, then he'll send some security details out to your city to keep it safe. or if you are on Jabba's Hitlist, maybe he'll still send a security detail to your city from time to time, just with a different set of orders.

i just want the ability to get NPCs like the ones with a title of (a Noble) or (a Criminal) like you find in NPC cities and outposts. the ones you can get little missions for, that don't pay a whole lot, but are fairly easy missions, so new players can get started out running some fun little missions, getting some reward items and some credits.
