Thread: The One & Only Cap Raise?
Hidden within TH's responses in his "Vehicle Publish Issues & Questions" thread was this comment:
"This is mostly likely the last time caps will be raised ... "
Wow, what happened to "slowly raising over time as testing establishes what the servers can handle?" I guess we don't need any testing to know that this cap raise was all they could handle? Or the caps are part of a design issue that has nothing to do with server stability, and that's just a convenient scapegoat to justify ignoring customer feedback on the ill-advised implementation of caps?
New day, new story from the devs ...
honestly I have no idea how you guys do it outside the big 3
Naboo's planetary map already looks way to crowded for me... don't know what an extra 5 cities on the map will do but honestly the 10 there is more than enough.
and frankly speaking... giving more "guild havens" at the cost of nerfing existing cities is totally unacceptable to me

The announcement on city caps was badly handled and the city caps were set too low initially. That having been said, there is no way that we need more than 50 cities on any planet. As an aspiring mayor who got left out in the great city land rush, i was very upset. But in the last 6 weeks or so our PA managed to join one city, and when that didnt work out as well as we had hoped, recently joined another. The second city we joined was on Dantooine and was only started about 3 weeks ago so , at least on our server, the caps on the 25 city planets were not reached for several weeks. This cap should be more than enough to satisfy those players who want to start/run your own city though you might have to move to a different spot. Any more cities than the limits that have just been put in place will create a megaloplis from one corener of each planet to the other, and that would be bad.
The one thing i would like to see , though, is the ability to move into, and run for election and potentially take over other cities. The way things stand today, there are only 2 professions that you have little choice in whetther you can play them, Jedi and politician. Zoningrights is a much bigger issue right now than /playerwarn is/was.
