Thread: New batch of mayors coming...
Here is a question. Can anyone just place a house anywhere in my city? I thought that I needed to grant them zoning rights first. Is there a way to not allow anyone to place any structure until apporved by the city officals?
But can anybody tell me when I get my XP?

I figured my own question out. Use the city management terminal to enable zoning.

I am a new Mayor on the Chilastra server for Nikao (PC North of Deeja on Naboo) I will get the xp at the end of the week then?
So first week we'll live w/o terminals/bank etc..? I am just curious as I am still learning myself =/

Welcome to all new mayors into the fascinating world of SPAM!!!
When you log on, you will immediately receive 20 or 30 /tells asking for you to /grantzoningrights or ask when the city will get a shuttleport or when you can place a dantooine meditation garden. Once you have handled the tell hell, you will sort through the 500 emails you received that day telling you about structures being placed, supposedly 5 times by the same person. Don't worry, this is just the person picking up and moving their house because they rotated it wrong.
After a week of this, you get to UPDATE day!!! Woot, you made it a week and have enough citizens to get to Class II. You train in Martial I and now everyone and their mother sends you a tell saying they want to be in the militia, then you have to explain that /citywarn is gone and you. In the tell hell spam you will miss half the messages trying to deal with the ones you actually see as the text scrolls in your spacial window. Back to daily 1000 mails of buildings going in, our, citizens declaring and citizens undeclaring. 5000 tells later asking when the city will get a cloning facility whose resources are still be collected to be given to the architect if you are lucky enough to have one who isn't hologrinding, you decide to log out having no moved 1m from your login spot.
Rinse and repeat.
In all honesty, I love being a mayor, but know in dvance, if you make it past outpost size, you have a lot of citizens and they will be demanding and ask things you feel are stupid, but that is just because they are not a politician or do not read these boards. I suggest all new mayors and even veteran ones continue to read this Politician Forum and the SWG Discussion Forum and their Galaxy Forum at a minimum to keep up to date on changes and information regarding Politicians and Player Cities.
